The building is old and smells older. Cleanliness was fair at best. Entire building and rooms are cooled only by window units, so the rooms were not very cool. We were there for only an evening, so we tolerated it. We did eat at the Williamsburg Inn and that was a good atmosphere. We wanted to stay in an historic place, but would not consider the Griffin again.
