"Lovely hotel, we were at a family party nearby. The hotel bar area is excellent and well priced. All of the staff from check in to bar and breakfast servers were excellent. The continental breakfast is a great start to the day, the full English breakfast also looked great. This was our second stay and we will be back."
"This was a very nice place to stay. I enjoyed the closed in patio area and the breakfast was very delicious. The rooms were neat and the area was safe and quiet."
"This was our third time staying at Mackworth House Farm and, as ever, Peter was the perfect host. The room was clean, tidy and spacious with a beautiful view of the garden. Check-in process was quick, and Peter was on hand to answer any questions we had. The breakfast options were plentiful, and there was a lovely pub a short distance away for evening meals/drinks. Can highly recommend for those wanting to stay in and around the Peak District."
"Just an amazing gem, the property itself is an amazing estate with great staff and food - with the feel of a small boutique manor, it offers a nice luxurious retreat at a reasonable price, it was the highlight stay of our 16 day trip around the UK."
"The staff at The Bear Inn are terrific: it’s a family-run business and nothing was too much trouble. You soon will get to know everyone’s name a they will remember yours; it’s the little things that set a small country Inn apart from the bigger and soulless enterprises. Check-in was easy and, although we originally planned to stay for a couple of days, we were made so welcome, decided to stay for two more. Our day always started with an excellent and leisurely breakfast which really set us up...

Check-in was easy and, although we originally planned to stay for a couple of days, we were made so welcome, decided to stay for two more. Our day always started with an excellent and leisurely breakfast which really set us up for a day of exploring and visiting attractions. There is lots to see and do in the local area; you can dive underground into some of the local guided cave attractions, ride in vintage cars, trams and trains, or fly through the air in a cable car. Back at The Bear Inn and after a full day out, you can wind down with the delights of a superb and varied menu, all washed down with well kept ale. The Bear Inn is a really old coaching house, steeped in history; lots of small rooms with exposed beams and fireplaces, make for a cozy and comfortable place to stay or just eat out. So, the next time we looking for places to stay in Derbyshire, The Bear Inn is right at the top our list. "
