Ambleside is close by, and cruises on Lake Windermere are available all the time from the pier. Lovely drive into the mountains to visit Castlerigg Stone Circle and Keswick, Tour of Beatrix Potter's Hill Top home was lovely followed by exploring Hawkshead. ”
