"I loved it! The property is in a rural location, but not far by car to the town of Alberobello and supermarkets. The property itself is lovely. The kitchen in the main house is well equipped, a little more so than the older section and the cooking facilities are better. We did encounter some exotic insects in the older property but this is to be expected given the rural location. The property is extensive and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen. The hosts were extremely attentive and more than happy to help with restaurant recommendations, helpful tips and really built the excitement in the lead up to the stay with up to date pictures. A quite shallow pool which was great for our youngest but also did the trick to cool you off in the Puglian sun. In general, we all had an amazing time filled with great food, interesting places and in a wonderful location."

"Great on pictures but didn’t live up to it in reality. Bathroom, sink and shower were smelly. The toilet seat was broken. We also had a bad experience due to a lost item and the hotel was not helpful. When we drove back to find the item The kitchen staff were lovely though. "

We just spent a month here and as Americans who want all the comforts of home to be combined with the authentic experience of being in Italy and Puglia it was perfect.Salvatore, the owner speaks English and is a pleasure to deal with on all matters related to the house, the area and anything you need or want to know. The property is probably two acres and the home is of very high quality build and beautifully done. We have rented homes in France, Greece and Italy many times and found Villa Marissa to be the best experience. It's at the edge of the city in a area of beautiful fruit and olive groves yet is less than three minutes drive to lots of restaurants, cultural events in season and the best gelato shop we have ever been to.The gardens and general look and feel of this villa defy photo description. How does a photo show watching butterflies flutter around the best smelling Lanvender since the fields of Provence? Each morning while you have your coffee you hear nothing but the church bells while you smell the Jasmine coming up from your extensive gardens.While we were there we would go out and pick a fresh plum daily. The bed was large and comfortable the AC worked just as it does at home and the house built out of stone and concrete with tall ceilings makes it very quit in an already quiet neighborhood. Beaches of all types, broad sandy, coves, crowded, secluded are a ride through the countryside in 20 minutes."

"This property is beautiful and peaceful. You definitely need a car to access it as it not a walkable area. With a rental car it’s great. The food was good, pool was cool but nice (pretty deep, so maybe hard with little kids). Gym was tiny (just for one person at a time) but well stocked. Overall I recommend for a peaceful, quiet getaway."

It's brilliantly situated to explore the beautiful towns/cities of puglia. Such as Monopoli, Alberobello, pogliano al mare, Bari, etc. An absolute pleasure from start to finish. "

"Wonderful stay. Stayed here for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. Property is beautiful, lots of animals (cats, turtles, sheep, bunnies, chickens) which was fun for my daughter. Beautiful breakfast with items the make/grow from the farm. Fresh cheeses, yougart, eggs, baked items. Also enjoyed a dinner at the property, also with delicious wine and olive oil made on site. Pool was lovely, great temperature and overlooks the beautiful scenery. Staff were so friendly and Paolo was very helpful in making recommendations. The location of this property was also ideal for exploring the area, Monopoly, Ostuni, and nearby Aberello. Would stay here again. Highly recommended. "

"The hotel is in a great location, short drive to most places you would want to visit when in Puglia. I only wished I had booked longer stay, instead of just 2 nights here, then more short stays in different places. The hotel has ample parking, offers breakfast, the lovely couple running it couldn't do enough for us and show us great hospitality. Also, there is a supermarket a short walk away. I would definitely recommend and return to the area and this hotel, as we really enjoyed it."

"The property is in a rural location at the end of a track with a few similar adjacent properties nearby. The facilities are excellent and the decor is modern. The outside area allows for eating by the property or by the pool. The pool is large with a ledge for younger visitors and has an outdoor fridge and bbq nearby. There is also a netted football pitch and volleyball area. The location of the property allows for easy access from Bari or Brindisi and the largest nearby town is Monopoli (10km) with beaches and supermarkets etc. Withing walking distance is a pizzeria and a grill (which is very popular). The nearest shop is a short drive (3km). Most of the rooms are air conditioned which was essential at night and the wifi covered all areas even the pool. Whilst this was occasionally intermittent it was much better than we have experienced on previous holidays. The 4 rooms in the main house included 3 comfortable doubles and an open loft room above the kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge, microwave and coffee machine but doesn't have much spare space (for a dishwasher). The other 2 rooms are based in a self contained unit attached to the owners house some 50 metres down the drive. The owners keep a low profile but were on hand to offer timely assistance as required which was much appreciated."
