I saw this lovely vacation stay and decided to book it to spend time with my family for my last day in Jamaica on the North Coast. There was full availability advertised for that week and I had paid and secured the booking the day prior and received full confirmation.Unfortunately the host informed us prior to our arrival that the cottage was somehow already double-booked and that I should reach out to the his site manager to see what other accommodations we could receive in another part of the community for the inconvenience. I decided to contact Vrbo support who reached out to him on my behalf to process a refund because my family and I weren't pleased with being offered something other than what we liked and paid for. I can only assume that the property is multi-listed on the app or another platform for something like that to happen. Unfortunately what ever caused the disorganization prevented us from finishing the journey here. It was a quiet cottage where i could hear my thoughts andbest of all take walks to the beach every morning. The accommodation and grounds are well-kept and nothing was too much trouble for the site manager...truly dedicated to his role...I extended my stay by a few days...the team made me feel at home ...will be sad to leave. Accommodation was clean and tidy and the overall property is generally well kept even as some parts show that the villa is older in character. The villa is very secure, being on the private Mammee Bay Estate with controlled access road and also having secure locked gate at the entrance to the villa. Guests are provided an access card to enter nearby Bamboo Blu private beach, which also has a bar & restaurant. The food there is ok but overpriced for what it is. There are other accommodations at the same villa depending on size of your group. Although we were the only ones there when we stayed ( and so had use of the pool to ourselves!) if other parts of the villa are rented out you'd obviously be sharing the place with other guests - in terms of relaxing by the pool then in this situation, there are limited loungers/chairs. There are 2 hot tub jacuzzis on site though we didn't use them and they would have needed some time to warm up, even though Chris the property manager was more than willing to get one ready for us. Chris stays on site too so if you do have any issues he's usually available to help. Exactly what I was looking for. Great place short walk to beach. You had to share the beach with the big resort guests spilling over from next door but there was always a lounger or spot available. Restraunt in beach had great food. AC and fan. Wifi and tv for use. Safe gated area with lots of parking. Only complaints we had personally were cobwebs in corners, check in process is a little tricky with location, directions, and property manager required us to contact the local representative to tell him we booked the place. Location of property is in nature so there are lots of loud bugs during the night just FYI. It was great being close to everyone. It was as advertised. We hung out mostly at the main house with our extended family. Chris was great!
