Beautiful location and so much potential but this place needs significant upgrades. Even the smallest bits of paint would be an improvement. Our bathroom door was tipping on the hinges, paint peeling everywhere including in the beautiful restaurant alcove. And the manager/host was playing TikTok reels at full volume in the lobby. Very poor running of this place.

We’ve stayed at Kingsmill a number of times before and have always had an enjoyable stay. The rooms are consistently tidy and clean, and the bathrooms are immaculate. That said, the bedrooms themselves could probably do with a little freshening up, and we were surprised that there were no fridges in the rooms, which seems unusual for a hotel of this standard. The staff are all very friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the breakfast was really enjoyable, with a great choice of both cooked and continental options. The pool and leisure facilities were the one area where we felt slightly let down. While the pool, sauna and steam room are all perfectly adequate, the facilities as a whole feel like they could do with some updating. In particular, the changing rooms are looking rather tired and would definitely benefit from a complete revamp. Overall, we still enjoyed our stay and would happily return, but the leisure facilities and bedrooms could use some investment to bring them up to the standard we would expect from the hotel.

The very hospitable and helpful staff make this hotel, as does its beautiful position on the Beauly Firth. The food is excellent, but somewhat overpriced. The public rooms are comfortable and attractive. Our bedroom was very tired looking, with a bathroom that must have been at least forty years old. It was clean but very outdated. Likewise the carpet and bedroom furniture looks tired and dated.
