Lovely location, and beautiful view towards the river. Quiet area. Breakfast was ok-ish. Pillows weren't neck / shoulder friendly.

Helpful, booked a taxi for us on a 2am arrival as well as ensuring someone was available to check us in. Room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was super with a wide variety of food and drink, excellent! Good location to walk into the town centre.

Great Stopover
We we’re on our way back to Helsinki on a driving holiday. We broke our journey and stayed overnight. The hotel was very clean and spacious. The service was friendly and efficient. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was wonderful. Breakfast was great. I went for a walk around the parklands next to the hotel and it was lovely. Great place for a stopover.

Strange internet, but very good service.
The hotel seems a bit out of the city, but if you enjoy the proximity of nature it is very good, and definitely in walking distance to everything. The hotel staff was very good and always helpful. The rooms were a little aged, also in the sense that there may be electrical outlets at the desk, but not at the bed, except deep under the bed, which was a hassle. The internet really gave me problems, as if they were hiding som man-in-the-middle attack on their router setup, so I was only able to send emails using my company VPN. I was glad I had that and the new EU free roaming charge on my phone. The restaurant meals(lunches especially) were quite old fashioned for a non-Finnish person, but everything was made with personal care, which shone through. The room also seemed a bit cold, and I could not find a way to change temperature. But apart from the internet issues that should be fixed, I shall be happy to return.

Gem right outside downtown Oulu
This hotel is located a quite short walk (10 mins) from downtown Oulu, by the river, in a nice quiet area. It has been renovated into older buildings that used to be a military hospital. Everything is quite new and clean. Some rooms have a river view, while others into the courtyard. Breakfast buffet is alright, nothing spectacular,what you'd expect at a Finnish hotel.

Great hotel looking over the river
Just a short stay for one night so we didn't get to explore all the options but we were offered by the nice, helpful person at reception, the use of swimming pool and sauna. Breakfast was very nice, quick check in - check out. All in all - very good experience.

Lovely location on the river, by walking trails
What a surprise! Beautifully rehabilitated property with interesting history. Our corner room overlooked the river on two sides and was surgically clean and very comfortable. Surprising contemporary Finnish restaurant for dinner...and terrific buffet breakfast.

Lovely out-of-the way hotel and restaurant
For the first week of August, I had a small single room at this modest hotel away from the center of Oulu. I have stayed in fancier hotels in many countries BUT I think this was my favorite hotel room ever. It was so homey and cozy--everything was convenient and worked well. The wonderful bed was against a wall, so it worked as a sort of couch and my room was more like a living room than a hotel room. The history of the hotel and location on an island, with beautiful views and proximity to a lovely park added to the atmosphere. Included buffet breakfast was very good, like in most European hotels these days, and featured great fresh local foods. I had dinner there most nights. Delicious but expensive fine dining with a very limited menu each night. Single best memory was the attention and kindness of Kasia, the main waitress, who helped me navigate Oulu and give whatever suggestions she could about what I could do in Oulu--within our language limitations. Reception desk couldn't help me much with train or bus schedules.
