Outside chairs to sit and admire the sublime lakeshore view with provided breakfast pastry and coffee. Our room (Heathcote, Rm 6) was necessarily small and very cozy with a well-appointed private but across the hall bathroom and good shower. Staff contact was entirely online but all questions answered. Drive into historic Plattsburgh for a variety of great dinner options. Provided breakfast included fresh croissants and muffins. Exceptions, 1) our mattress was atrocious! We rolled to the middle and our backs are killing us this morning. If not for that we would have probably given 5s across the board, but the mattress ended up coloring everything else. 2) We suggest some breakfast items with protein as well as some savory bread. There was an event going on one night but they were gone by the time we returned around 7:30\. Continental breakfast was good. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very clean and roomy for two people. He was pleasant, timely, and accommodating. Excellent place to stay. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the room was cool in the summer. It had a small fridge, microwave, basic kitchen needs, a convection plate, and a sink with some dishes and glasses. Packaged food swee4t bun, a stale and dry orange (inedible), decent Yoghurt, mediocre coffee in a box for each guest, and no interior dining room (just outdoor terrace too cold for comfort. We attended a wedding of a family member over the Labor Day weekend. Views are stunning, facility in very good condition, quiet, and easily reached, via rail, air or car. The wedding food was good, but again cooking in a boathouse has to be a challenge. The waterfront property with gorgeously maintained grounds was a wonderful place to relax and recharge. With only a few rooms it was always peaceful and quiet.
