This is a beautiful resort, the pools are fabulous with a great layout. Be sure to bring an inflatable to use in the lazy river as the store and stores close by were ridiculous. Upwards of $50 CDN for a tube. Each unit is privately owned so furnishings vary. Purchasing breakfast through expedia.ca upon booking was a smart move as breakfast with coffee and a juice was between $25-30 USD. And we paid $31 CDN for two people.
The beach was disappointing its quite steep so not the nicest to walk and the ocean floor had tide pools so very uneven footing while trying to play in the waves. The beach area in town near Penasco Del Sol was much better. We went to La Choya which has a beautiful calm bay for swimming at high tide and the Oyster House had an amazing fish platter. Other restaurants that were fantastic for fresh seafood were The Point, Mara Blu and Borracho Tequila. We are so glad we decided to drive down to Puerto Penasco!
