I was very excited to go to San Carlos for the first time and the reviews of San Carlos plaza were very good on Expedia. The hotel is in very bad shape and needs to be upgraded. Our rooms smelled so bad the staff sprayed them with some kind of cinnamon smell that lasted a little while and then we used cologne to mask the smell. Some of the staff was friendly and some not so much. The pools were very dirty and you could not see the bottom. The food was very poor. The bathrooms were horrible the pressure from the shower was not good and no hot water. The only thing I can say was good is it’s right on the beach and that part is nice. When we check out they asked us how our stay was and my spouse said there was so many problems and would rather just not say anything. The staff said they were used to this response by people who stayed there so they know about the issues. Anyway I don’t normally leave reviews but after this stay I felt I needed to.
