If you want to enter a part of history this is the place to stay. Building is old and very well kept. When you walk through the door it’s a feeling of walking into the past. Staff are wonderful. Rooms very clean.
An interesting historical inn with very helpful staff and beautiful surroundings. We would like to come back sometime. A gluten free option at breakfast would be nice.

A great stop driving along the North shore of lake Superior. A quaint little town with gorgeous views. The hotel itself is dated and in need of repairs. The room itself is very clean and the bathroom was very clean. Staff were very friendly. The breakfast is very simple.

historic building with huge. potential
room was clean and staff helpful
Very unique property with an amazing history.
It's a basic accommodation, but the character is worth it.
The staff member who checked me in was amazing.
This is a beautiful heritage building in a beautiful place. It is definitely rustic with no fancy touches and I wish the building was a bit better maintained (you can just see the age and my bathroom door couldn’t close properly cause the building has shifted) but the room was pretty clean and comfortable and staff were welcoming.
Breakfast was basic but the muffins were good and it was in a beautiful old dining room.

An “out of the way” unique accommodation ! Previously a thriving social hub in a small town. New owners are working hard to make this heritage building back to its glory. Staff very accommodating. Full buffet breakfast is a bonus. Clean, quiet and close to a nice lake. Stayed here twice this summer. Excellent food and service at Ducky’s in nearby Nipigon !

This is a lovely property with a lot of potential. It seems to have fallen into a state of disrepair. The very kind and helpful staff mentioned remodeling, so hopefully that happens soon. Our room was fine and the bed was comfortable. The room was very clean. We enjoyed our stay here, but the exterior is in need of repair which is a bit off-putting when you arrive.
Interesting and quiet. Lovely location with lots of potential.

Vintage hotel with lots of character but clearly in need of major renovation (interesting to walk through). Room was clean & adequate. Great for a single night if just passing through but not for everyone. Helpful & friendly staff. Very limited options nearby for food.

Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was great. There are things that need improvement as this property will be undergoing some renovations by the new owners. It is a rustic old time Inn, but it is quaint and charming, and reminds you of the simpler days. The continental breakfast was adaquate, and you can always bring in food to store in their kitchen frig. The lake view with the mountains was beautiful, and the marina is right across the street.
Room had cleanliness issues but bed was comfortable.Staff was great. Surrounding area well worth seeing .

Room was comfortable and spacious. Receptionist very friendly and eager to share the interesting history of the building. Plenty of choice for continental breakfast in the beautiful historic dining room.
Our room had an air conditioner which was nice. Had no TV or fridge. Had lots of stairs to carry luggage to the second floor.
Beautiful view overlooking the lake. Sure once the renovations are completed, the exterior will look much more inviting. Enjoyed seeing some of the historic items and walking in the lovely park and gardens beside the Inn. Best to eat before heading out to the Red Rock Inn because only one small place to get food and open for limited hours.

Depending on what your going for you may be disappointed. We stayed in a retro room which I would say hasn't been touched since the seventies as well as any of the rooms that we looked in as the doors were left open on the other hand it was interesting like walking back in time you can go down to the basement which is not well kept but there is pool tables that are free to use and has the atmosphere as well as '70s bar which it was during that period. The building itself is not well kept up rather disappointing the main floor is still very nice but it seems like it was a bunch of boarding rooms that were left everything is outdated the internet did not stay connected and you had to go in the hallway to use it. One Plus was the breakfast in the morning it was all homemade muffins Juice coffee granola and yogurt. Also the decor that you see in all the pictures is no longer there on the main floor
Yes, the place is clean and the staff friendly but the most excellent thing is this inn's amazing history! Every room seems to bear a dignified story from its past. Its worth the side trip just to stay here!
