Maipu has plenty to keep you on the move, but don't limit yourself to just one place. Grab a set of wheels and take to the road to see what's in the surrounding region. Here are some places to consider:

• You'll find Quinta Vergara Amphitheatre and many other interesting attractions in Vina del Mar. From Maipu, it's roughly 55 miles away.
• Your next stop? Make it Valparaiso, which is around 55 miles away. Casa Mirador de Lukas is one local highlight you shouldn't miss.
• Get out into the outdoors and appreciate the serenity at Reserva Nacional Radal Siete Tazas. It's about 130 miles from Maipu.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Chile, then you might need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country in order to rent a car. Please also consider that if an IDP is required, it won't be valid on its own. You'll have to show your driver's license from your home country your passport and other forms of ID as well.
