A fun and relaxing place to stay with a great atmosphere. Loved the historical significance of the house. Also a great location; very near the promenade and downtown. We even had a little view of the ocean from one of our windows. The only drawback was hauling our luggage to the second floor as there is no elevator, so if that is a problem for you, make sure you have a room on the first floor, but there are still a few steps to get up. The property was clean and the staff friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed taking some hot chocolate or tea after dinner to sit around the gas fireplace. It is well landscaped, very pretty and relaxing to sit there. We had some issues trying to watch the Mariners game and the staff is so attentive to helping us get that figured out. it’s only a half a block to walk on the promenade.

This is a very cute inn and in a perfect location, one block from the beach. The decor is very appropriate for the age and style of the inn and the bed was super! There is a nice breakfast room and even a small outdoor patio dining area off it. Do be aware that the inn charges a $35 fee for dogs and does not accept cats. I somehow missed that info when I booked. Yes, I do recommend the Gilbert Inn as a charming place to stay in Seaside.

The room was clean and the breakfast good every day. Coffee was always ready even before breakfast which was st 8 am. Location was great, one block from the beach. I stayed in Andrew’s room which was at the back of the inn, near the street…. And back door entry. Could be noisy. Bathroom needs a new toilet!
