Every member of staff we met were warm and friendly and the cooked breakfast was superb. Appledore is such a lovely destination and a stay at the Royal George makes it all the more special. "Wonderful and imaginative breakfast menu with many options. Lovely setting on a hillside overlooking the valley and just a few minutes from the sand dunes and beaches of the estuary. Very warm welcome from our hosts and can thoroughly recommend to others."

"A charming cottage with a superb view of the estuary. We enjoyed sitting in the garden watching the boats go back and forth. The cottage had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. "

"We were hoping for a holiday cottage in a location where we didn't have to drive everyday to be somewhere interesting. Appledore is a perfect little village/town for a quiet holiday but it still feels alive with plenty of people around and activities going on. We enjoyed seeing locals going out on rowing practices in the evenings - I would love to be this close to the see to have this as a hobby. There is a very good selection of well rated eateries - we recommend the Flame Factory and both the fish and chip places. The cottage itself was comfortable and homely. "
