It takes some 3 to 4 hours to get there and from Ak-su you can stop marshrutka bus to Karakol. The altitude is ca. 2.500 and Ak-su is some 2.000. The pipe is for hot water coming from near springs to concrete basins for relaxing bathing. The water is naturally very hot (45 degrees Celsius) and sulphuric. For equivalent of few dollars you can enjoy it anytime of the day. The water in the river is on the opposite very cold and wild even in summer months.
