Watauga Lake Tours

While the property itself was decent, the overall experience was incredibly frustrating. My villa was located right next to a timeshare showroom, meaning I had to endure the constant slamming of doors from tours all day. To make matters worse, I had no hot water overnight and through half of the next day. When I requested a room change, the front desk claimed the resort was completely booked. However, while standing at the desk, I checked their website and found five identical rooms available for booking. Only after pointing this out—and waiting another hour for a callback—was I finally moved. For the premium price charged here, the lack of basic amenities, poor customer service, and zero compensation for these major inconveniences are completely unacceptable. Someone should be making this right.

The only issue was when we arrived. It was just a little after 3 o’clock, and our room was not ready, which was OK, but it was at least an hour later before we were finally able to get in our room due to it not being inspected after they cleaned it for at least 30 minutes or so, but other than that, the room was awesome and the stay in general was awesome
