Wildflower Blooms

Stop and smell the tulips

Nothing signals the beginning of spring more than colorful fields of wildflowers, and there are tons of beautiful options right here in the United States. From the technicolor tulips in Washington to Texas's bluebonnets, here’s where to find gorgeous blooms this season.

1. Skagit Valley, Washington
You don’t have to fly to Holland to see endless rows of tulips; instead, head straight for Washington. Located in the northwestern part of the state, Skagit Valley is known for its annual Tulip Festival, held this year from April 1-30. Aside from live music and artwork, the festival allows visitors to witness the valley’s famous fields of tulips and daffodils—they only bloom once a year, so plan accordingly.
