Day 1: Downtown Denver

Where to stay: Hotels in the heart of LoDo (Lower Downtown) include the historic Crawford Hotel, and the Kimpton Hotel Born, a sleek place to stay for both humans and dogs. Book either hotel today as part of your Colorado package deal.

Transportation: Denver has a good public transit system of light rail and buses. It’s also a bike-friendly city with dedicated cycle lanes and paths, and a bike-sharing system that includes a 24-hour pass.

Day 2: Daytrip to Boulder

Visit Boulder, a college town that’s surrounded by the Flatirons rock formations:

Transportation: The Flatiron Flyer is a bus rapid transit service that connects Denver and Boulder which takes just over an hour. On weekends in the summer you can reach the Chautauqua Trailhead by jumping on the free Park-to-Park shuttle from the Pearl Street Mall. Year round there’s a Flatiron Flyer service to the park, which takes about 30 minutes.

Day 2: Evening in Denver

For the last evening of your Colorado weekend trip, make a beeline for Denver’s River North Art District (RiNo), which you can reach by rail from Union Station in about 15 minutes on the A Line. RiNo is a jumble of historic warehouses and factories that host restaurants, jazz bars, art galleries and brewpubs. Before taking a seat inside, wander and explore the colorful street art murals across the district. From RiNo, use the A Line service again to reach the airport in about 40 minutes.
