The good, the bad, and why I would never return. The hotel is attractive with a great location and welcoming staff. The café handled coffee and snacks well and the ladies there were lovely. First pool day was enjoyable—good music, a server who circulated often (though I ordered nothing; the menu is mostly unhealthy). Yogurt parfait and baked goods were great. The gals who gave local rides were great. Service at Voyage was great. Loved the free afternoon snow cones. The shower was a 10: strong pressure and Aveda products. The water policy is infuriating. Two cheap plastic bottles (~10–25¢ each) come on day one only. A $350 room should include the same amenities both nights. I had to haggle for more water on day two. That is absurd. On day two the pool music was shut off for a live musician at the outdoor bar—inaudible from the pool chairs. Sitting by the pool became boring. Guests come to relax. It feels like no one running this place has ever stayed as a guest or gone to hospitality school. The lobby was so freezing I couldn’t sit and enjoy it. I would not return. Small, stingy policies and a pool area that stops being pleasant after day one ruin an otherwise decent stay.
