The Excelsior on the Lido is the perfect spot to relax and recharge, whilst having rapid access, by hotel boat and public boat transport, to Venice and nearby islands. We find the Lido and its beach to be a much more pleasurable Venice base than staying in the center of Venice. Excelsior is an old-world style resort, with all of the wonderful staff and amenities of yesteryear, with no pretension. The facilities and services at both the private beach and pool are simply perfect. The staff are warm and always happy to help in any way they can. The rooms are elegant and well appointed. This was our second visit and we WILL be back!

The best hotel—the quality of service, the attentiveness, and the hospitality were all excellent. I highly recommend it. The location is perfect for catching the bus and exploring the area, with great transport links to everywhere; it is close to everything—supermarkets, clothing stores, the beach, and restaurants. The service in the breakfast area was excellent, and the food was superb. The room was very clean and beautiful, offering lovely views. When I return to Venice, I want to stay at this hotel again. I recommend it.

Overall a wonderful experience. The bar and lobby are beautiful and charming, filled with gorgeous treasures. The hotel feels authentic and staff are quickly familiar and warm. Considering the price, the rooms are pretty run down with old carpets and dingy showers. Staff was not particularly helpful with organising activities. The garden is very atmospheric and dinner is decent but it is annoying to have to pay a fee for the table every evening despite being a guest. Breakfast is very basic. AC worked well and it’s lovely to be close to the beach even if it means being further from the city center. Overall was very happy staying here but there is room for improvement.

It is a lovely traditional hotel, very clean and full of character. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very conveniently located near main street and everything is within a walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the hotel, definitely would choose it again.
