We had a lovely stay here for our first time in Italy. Staff was friendly, great location, clean, exactly as advertised! The best part was the free bicycle rental. Our favorite Sanremo memories are of riding along the coast. Highly recommend!

Our stay at Splendide Riviera in Rapallo was exceptional. The hotel is impeccably clean (cleaner than most 5 star hotels in the area), beautifully maintained, and reflects great pride in every detail. What truly sets it apart is the staff—warm, professional, and genuinely attentive. If possible, book the Hemingway Suite. Knowing Ernest Hemingway stayed here while writing Cat in the Rain adds a unique historical touch. A perfect blend of historic charm, elegance, outstanding service, and a prime waterfront location. We would gladly return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rapallo.

We checked in with the assistance of a wonderful Asian man. Very courteous and friendly. Not all the staff were as friendly. Our room was nice but there was a terrible smell like drains. We spoke to Italian man on reception who said it was cleaning products. It wasn't. We asked to be moved but he said the hotel was full :There were 3 tables occupied at breakfast. The room was clean however and the bed comfortable. When we checked out we saw the Asian receptionist man who said he would have moved us. On that basis we have to say the stay wasn't perfect.

When we arrived they advised our dinner reservations were cancelled because a large wedding party had booked the restaurant. We had booked this months in advance.The door knob fell off the door and we could not lock our room. The shower hose came loose from the wall and sprayed water every where. The wedding party band kept us up til midnight. Room service breakfast arrived cold.The hotel is beautiful but not a good experience.

Room was spacious, king size bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked great, good size shower for Italy, staff was so kind and helpful. We had the top floor balcony room with 180 degree views of the sea were incredible. Breakfast was fabulous, make sure you include that with your stay. If we ever come back to Sanremo this is where we will stay.

I’ve stayed at hundreds if not thousands of hotels both in the US, Europe, South America and Asia. From oasis bungalows to some of the nicer 5 star hotels. Do not be fooled by the 3 stars of this hotel. The staff are some of the most caring and helpful I have ever experienced. Whether it’s the inclusive breakfasts in the morning, the help with reservations and beach clubs or simply chatting and learning more about the history of Santa Margerita. The room itself is bright spacious and clean. The hotel is run by people who love to travel so they maintain this energy for you. As an American we love our water and they would always give me bottles, focaccia, and even medicine when you eat something a little funky in town. There are no hidden fees or surcharges so it is extremely reasonable and I felt very safe and in good hands during my stay and cannot wait to be back :)
