All the amenities we used (pool, hot tub, fitness center) were well maintained and in very good condition. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and there were nice touches like bathrobes. Spa and restaurants were a little pricey for what you get, but the location and facilities were very good.

Valet Arrival: The valet was aggressively hostile upon arrival in an empty driveway, threatening to force us to park in the back lot and walk if I didn’t immediately surrender my keys. I communicated clearly that we only wanted to quickly check in ams head to park our car after and he stood in the way of the door. It was incrediblely uncomfortable. First Dinner Service: At the sushi restaurant, our bartender stated she "hates sake," refused to make a recommendation, and treated us with cold hostility. Fire Evacuation: Our evening was disrupted by an actual electrical fire alarm, forcing us to stand outside in the rain for over an hour. Unset Room Alarm: A 6:30 AM alarm went off in our room—which we did not set—completely ruining our attempt to sleep in. Lobby Coffee: All morning coffee carafes in the lobby were completely empty. Breakfast Service: We waited 20 minutes just to be acknowledged at breakfast, and when our food finally arrived, the order was delivered incorrectly. Second Dinner Service: At the property’s other restaurant, we were met with the same disgruntled bartender alongside understaffed, undertrained staff who did not know how to perform their roles.

The hotel and grounds are peaceful and beautiful. The rooms are clean and adequate. The views from the rooms really feel like you’re in Europe. Make sure to bring a bathing suit, because the pool is fantastic. It’s lovely to take a hike in the morning and see the Highland cows (which we didn’t need to join the fully-booked group tour to see).
