"Loved our stay at The Royal Yacht. Room was clean and tidy. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Particularly appreciated the 2 bottles of water left in our room every day. Great selection of cooked and cold food at breakfast. Loved the freshly cooked eggs. I would have liked to see a bit more fresh fruit (strawberries) to have with my cereal. Our room was at the front of the hotel as I wanted a balcony with a great view of the harbour (which overall was excellent) but was a bit noisy on the Friday and Saturday nights as it does get busy in the square with the number of pubs there. But we lived with this. We didn’t hire a car this time as the bus station is less than 5 mins walk from the hotel and the bus service is very very good and reasonably priced. Overall a great stay. Thank you. We will be back."

"The property is great. It has great views of the marina and is right beside the bus station so very convenient for getting around. They have fresh Scones and Croissants free every morning. The room is very quite which was great because we are light sleepers. The staff are also very helpful. We will be coming back."

"Very disappointed, it was like a hostel and it was very noisy. I think we were the only guests in amongst all contractors staying there. The pool that was advertised was not functional and hadn’t been for a long time by the looks of it. There was no pool table as advertised and the public area was stacked with random matresses. We couldn’t open the windows fully due to scaffolding outside the window which felt very unsafe should there have been a fire. Every morning, before light we were woken up by people right outside our window chatting, smoking and coughing. All in all a very bad experience never to be repeated. "
