"Clean, modern, extremely small rooms. Great staff"
Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Rooms were very clean and modern with comfortable beds and free wifi/Skype/Netflix. The only negatives were that there is no elevator so a room on the 3rd floor meant carrying a heavy bag up stairs. The room was extremely small. I had to unpack my suitcase and put items in the under-bed drawers because there was no room to open my suitcase. It was a minor inconvenience to navigate a room that (barely) provided room to walk around the bed on two sides and no bathroom counter space. However, the price was right and the hotel is in an excellent location. I recommend this room for: small people :), people with limited luggage that they can carry up stairs and that can be accessed from the top (e.g. duffel instead of suitcase that must be opened) and a hanging toiletry bag. Room not suitable for more than one person.

"Great downtown location"
Spent five nights in a basic double room, two double beds, non-smoking, at the Eaton Chelsea. We were on the 23rd floor so it was nice and quiet, the room was small and basic, but it had been updated and was very clean. The beds were comfortable and the Wi-Fi was great, no problems getting on line. The hotel staff were helpful and pleasant, especially the cleaning staff. Didn't eat in any of the restaurants, just too many great places to eat around the hotel. The hotel is perfectly situated and within walking distance to everything. The pool and exercise room was well maintained and the rooftop deck area was nice if you wanted to suntan. We were happy with our stay at the Chelsea, we were there to visit family and friends and to take in a bit of music and see the sites so did not spend much time in our room. The only thing I that found lacking was that there was no closet to hang my clothes, but we went for the most basic room and got a good price on both our airfare and hotel through Expedia so this was a minor issue. I would definitely stay at the Chelsea again, it met all our needs and then some. It is a very big and busy hotel and so one might feel it to be quite impersonal but anytime we asked for something someone was there to accommodate us. No shortage of helpful staff.

"Ideal location for us"
The hotel rooms were clean and kept up; staff accommodating; elevators prompt. Street noise on Esplanade side was muffled, but still noticeable; light sleepers might request a room facing the parking garage. Breakfast was a choice of buffet or a la carte, food was above average and plentiful, service was excellent. Checking in and out was painless. We were in Toronto for two nights mainly to catch two baseball games. Novotel was a 20-25 minute walk from Rogers Center/CNN Tower. It is 5 minutes from the Hockey Hall of Fame and King Street subway on Yonge St. Several restaurant options across the street (Spaghetti Factory, Fionn MacCools, Keg Steakhouse /skip The Tilted Kilt - overpriced & horrible food/)

"Girls' Night out"
We rented 2 rooms, requested them as adjoining and they were! Rooms were not ready by 4:00 p.m. but front desk said they could call my cell. Didn't call, so went back to check. One room was ready so we checked in and front desk said they would call when 2nd room was ready. We waited an hour and got no call, so I went to the front desk and they said oh ya, it was ready :-( Other than that the stay was fine. We had a good time and no other issues.

"Very good hotel with friendly staff"
The Hilton Garden Inn in Toronto was a very good hotel and a good value for the money. All employees were friendly and greeted us when we walked by, even the chamber maids and maintenance people. The room was clean and neat, the bathroom was well maintained and did not look dingy or dirty. Bathrooms can become tired looking quickly when not maintained- but this one was fine- no broken tiles on the walls or floor. The only thing I noticed was that the toilet rocked a little bit, a little unsettling when using it! The shower did leak water every day. The shower curtain did not keep the water from spattering out, you had to adjust it just right to keep it from leaking. This could cause tile floor tiles to prematurely fail if not fixed. The A/C was set a little too low when we came into the room and we forgot adjust it before we went to bed and it was too cool in the room that first night, we adjusted it the next night and was fine.
