The owner, Aileen Reeves, was an outstanding host... made sure we were 100% satisfid with the accomodations. Her breakfasts' were great, and she would introduce us all if there we more than 1 couple in the breakfast room. The room was as clean as can be, and everything worked to our delight. Thank you, Aileen!! We will be in contact when next we plan a visit your wonderful townhouse, city and country!!

Great Neighborhood. Wonderful Host.
Loved our stay. Aileen was delightful. We stayed in her African themed room. Very cozy. Heated perfectly for my wife who likes it warm. The room is large and comes with Tea, Biscuits, some Chocolates, and a snifter of the good stuff. Just a 2 block walk to the 100 Airporter bus, and a 15 minute walk to either Old town or New Town. We loved our stay, and we loved Aileen and her staff.

Best B&B Experience I've Ever Had
The hostess is a wonderfully kind and hilarious lady. The room was very cute and clean. If you are moderately active it's an easy walk to almost everything. If you are not moderately active the tram/bus is a short walk down the way. I would give this B&B a 10 star rating out of 5.

AMAZING!!!
The owner, Aileen, was amazing from the moment I booked this hotel. We communicated several times before my arrival to Edinburgh and she always promptly responded to my emails. She gave me exact directions on how to get to The Victorian Townhouse using public transportation. She cooks an authentic Scottish breakfast every morning for her guests, which was delicious. The rooms were well furnished, nicely decorated, and very clean. The rooms were also very quiet. We didn't hear other guests or outside noise. The location is within walking distance of pretty much everything you'd want to see while in Edinburgh. Other than to and from the airport when we took the bus, we walked everywhere we went! I left my ipad in my room upon checkout and Aileen had it mailed overnight to me in London free of charge. This was above and beyond as it was my mistake for leaving it behind. I can't say enough good things about the Victorian Townhouse. I highly recommend this place to everyone! I will definitely rebook when I return to Edinburgh! Thanks so much for your warm hospitality, Aileen!

OK but not sure I'd go back...
This hotel is 1/2 story underground, so it's rather like staying in a basement and somewhat damp. We did have to exterminate a rather large spider but that may be something that comes along with housing partially below ground level. Our room had a very small shower enclosure -- perhaps 3' x 3'. Bed comfort was average. Still, the rooms are good sized, the proprietor is personable, helpful and friendly, and the breakfasts were very good.

Victorian ambiance
Quiet,pleasant,and historical place to stay in new town Edinburgh. Very accommodating and supportive owner. Only 1 off for low flow shower. I would definitely stay here again. It would feel like going home.

Absolutely Wonderful!
Our stay at the Victorian Town House was fabulous! Aileen, the owner, was terrific and extremely accommodating throughout our stay, from our delayed flight, to our forgotten charging cords, to restaurant recommendations. Her Scottish breakfast was great. We would highly recommend staying at this B&B!

convenient and welcoming bed & breakfast
The best place we stayed in during our trip to the UK. The place was beautifully and comfortably furnished, the room (Caledonian) was large and cozy, and the location was very convenient, a short walk from the city center. The owner, Aileen, was extraordinarily kind and helpful and very friendly. A couple of mornings during our stay, we had early all-day tours, so we had to leave before breakfast, so instead of the lovely free breakfast she provided on other mornings, Aileen packed us picnic lunches loaded with goodies. There were also complimentary snacks and water provided in the room (as well as a small decanter of whiskey!). Overall, we felt like we were staying with a very considerate friend, rather than mere guests in a hotel.

Wonderful B and B in the West End
Good location in West End. Close to restaurants and transportation. Wonderful personable staff, more like friends who went out of their way for us. They packed us a tasty lunch for the road. Very knowledgeable about things to do, good restaurants and transportation in Edinburgh. Great hardy breakfast to start the day. Extra candy and drink in the room. Large very clean bedroom and bathroom. Would definitely stay there again just to talk with Aileen and company.

A Lovely Spot
Aileen is the perfect hostess, she had the room all ready for me and my 21 year old daughter and even gave us our choice of rooms. We got there earlier than expected but Aileen worked with us and everything went smoothly. Our room was sparkling clean and she even had a nip of whiskey and chocolates for a snack. The beds were great, best on our trip, so we got a good night's sleep. The room was beautifully decorated as were the other rooms. There was a nice sofa and chairs to sit and write postcards. Breakfast was delicious and Aileen packed us a "to go" bag for our train ride to London. We really enjoyed staying at The Victorian Townhouse and chatting with Aileen. She even went online & played a song for me with my name in it. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Made to feel like a member of the Family
Our stay at the Victorian Town House was a pleasure and memory that will last forever. Our Hostess was the epitome of graciousness, yet made us feel comfortable and like a family member. The room was spacious, the bed most comfortable, the bathroom very large and bright. In spite of cold, often dreary weather during our stay, our room had a large window looking out on a walled garden area. Anything we required was provided, including the friendliness of our Hostess.

Excellent location within walking distance to Old Town shops, Edinburgh castle etc. B&B owner Eileen was wonderful and in true Scottish hospitality, started our days with a smile, pot of coffee and a scrumptious breakfast. When we arrived with no luggage the day before our daughters wedding, Eileen quickly offered the use of her phone to call airlines, recommended "The House of Fraser" for wedding attire and a cup of tea for a frantic mom. Many thanks for making our visit a wonderful time. We will definitely return to Scotland and the Victorian Inn.

Would stay again
This is a lovely townhouse about a 10 minute walk from main areas of Edinburgh. We stayed in the Dunedin Room and the photos don't do it justice. I did see one of the other rooms and it was very nice as well. The hostess was most welcoming, and let us know how to get around and the popular places in town. There is a large breakfast every morning with some set items such as cereal, yogurt, juices, etc. with the rest made to order. The beds are very comfortable and the room was spacious - more than 2x larger than a typical European hotel room. The only thing that was lacking was good water pressure, but otherwise, we loved it!
