This hotel was great for the following reasons: 1. Location - really in the thick of things right in the Grass market. Great dining, lots of shops, near major attractions, and with beautiful views. We could hear the Castle concerts right from our room 2. Service - front desk attendants were helpful, was the lots of information for local sights. We really appreciated the ability to leave our bags locked up after check-out, so we had more time to explore. 3. Rooms - nicely appointed and spacious. Beautiful bathroom with lots of soaps/lotions and a nice shower and separate bathtub. Loved the windows that opened, so we could hear the sounds of the street, and the music from the multiple concerts. 4. Bedding was very soft, and the wool blanket a nice local nod, and beautiful! Large, comfortable pillows. 5. Breakfast service was great, and we enjoyed that it wasn't just continental, but that we could also order a hot meal. Overall, really impressed with this hotel. One major disappointment though - the mattress! Absolutely awful! The bounciest brick I have ever slept on. Very hard, but also felt every movement of my partner. One of the worst I have ever slept on. If the Apex can get their mattress situation figured out, this would easily be a 5/5 hotel.

Great hotel perfect location staff really attentive and so polite. Breakfast was lovely great choice and freshly prepared. The bed was so comfortable and nice pillows too. I would really recommend a stay here.

It was a great location,but it was extremely hot inside the building versus outside. As you got closer to our room the heat was bad. Our room had a at least. I had no idea we had any VIP benefits and paid full price for parking so we were not walking a far distance.

Everything was great except the shower door wouldn't close completely and water would spill out. We used the shower at low pressure so the water wouldn't get out. It was a good experience and we will return to this hotel.

Location was great. Staff were friendly and we were able to park in the property. One problem- We had to shorten our stay by one day and the hotel refused to accommodate the change, despite multiple attempts before the deadline. We hope that Expedia will reimburse us.

It's right at grassmarket and very walkable to most places in Edinburgh. Loved how conveniently located it is. The staff is nice and there is a parking lot at the back although we didn't have to use it. They will store your luggage for a few hours after check out.

Location was ideal. Our room was at the back so very quiet. BUT the mattress of sofa bed was thin and springy so not confortable sleep, PLUS the room was Super Warm making it very difficult to sleep!!! We opened the window but that didn’t make much of a difference!!! We were visiting mid June and it wasn’t very hot weather, just to note! Only heating available in that room no fan.

It is an absolutely wonderful location - having a view of the castle from my room was simply amazing. The staff was extremely helpful since I had come late and the airline has still not gotten my bag back to me. Kudos to the folks at the desk. Wonderful breakfast - probably the best oatmeal I had had in my life. Seriously the oat porridge was amazing with the fruit compote and honey. Definitely a great hotel.
