Quiet hotel with local amenities nearbyPosted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: Service - staff couldn't do enough
Location: see above. Near Warwick Avenue tube . which has a taxi rest stop right outside it, so plenty of taxis
We were very happy here. Lovely comfortable beds in quiet room. We wanted to be in a quiet area but were glad there was a nice pub and a couple of restaurants just round the corner. We enjoyed a walk by the nearby canal and a boat trip to London Zoo and Camden Lock

Business Trip to LondonPosted Aug 19, 2014
Great hotel, great location (Westminster City / Little Venice), close to Paddington Station. Staff is extremely nice and supportive. The single rooms are very small, but very clean. Historic building thus the stairs make some noise if your room is next to one on the third or fourth floor. Good continental breakfast. Book it on Expedia when you book your room. I recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Nice hotel away from the centre of LondonPosted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: The bathroom was a good size. The room was quite large ( it must have been the sitting for a large townhouse) Some of the other rooms may have been sm
Location: It was one station from Padddington with nice wide streets in the area.
it was well position near the tube station. It was a quieter area. The start of the London canals was close which made a nice difference. There was a laundromat in the shops behind.

Lovely locationPosted Aug 3, 2014
I booked this hotel because its a minutes walk from my daughters flat . It was a very pleasant hotel experience . I was worried about my room as it was described as a 'petite double' but the size was absolutely fine . Very very comfy four poster bed , great air con in the room . Nice big complimentary toiletries so no need to bring any if you are on a short visit . We will stay again when visiting family in that area

Great location, but no proper desk in single roomsPosted Jun 27, 2014
This is in a great location, in Little Venice, not far from Paddington Station. Staff were excellent. My main criticism was that the single rooms were so small that there was no desk and no physical way to get work done in the room. European rooms are always smaller than American ones but I still expect to be able to sit at a small desk in a chair and connect my laptop. This wasn't possible. I asked about changing rooms and was told that this was the largest single. My colleague had a double and it was spacious, so this wasn't the case for all rooms in the hotels, but I was traveling on business and the inability to get work done in my room was a drawback.

Nice but disappointingPosted Jun 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
It is very near to subway and bus stop in a quiet area. While the staff was helpful, there were minor shortcomings such as provision of towels that make you wish you had stayed in a good modern hotel at the same price level. For those working in the computer field, you may like to know that Alan Turing, a computer pioneer, was born there.

Easy to find comfortable hotelPosted Jun 6, 2014
Location: Easy to find. Access via the Underground (1 stop past Paddington, and a block walk to hotel). Situated in a quieter area but just a hop to theatres.
Our stay at the Colonnade was very pleasant. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating -- we showed up a little early for check in but that wasn't a problem. Our room was spacious and airconditioned with all the amenities - which was a nice surprise given the hotel was originally a Victorian residence. The radio has been set to a classical channel which set the tone for this nice Victorian hotel -- that incidently has some history (prominent visitors included Sigmund Freud and the father of computer science, Alan Turing). A good experience!

close to tube stationPosted May 29, 2014 on Hotels.com
Do NOT eat at the hotel's restaurant. Upon exiting hotel, turn left and walk one-half block. There you will find 4 or 5 excellent (and cheaper) restaurants, a mini-market, laundry, dry cleaners, etc. I was charged 80 British pounds for laundry for the hotel staff sent my cotton underwear, t-shirts and socks to the dry cleaners. I got into a very heated argument with the front desk person who maintained that I made the problem. The next day the manager lowered my laundry bill by half. The hotel actually DOUBLES the price of laundry/dry cleaning sent out. No one told me about the laundry around the corner. Also, restaurant service is very, very slow at the hotel.
