"A class act"
This was a special weekend and the Carlye lived up to expectations. The location is good, convenient but also quiet. The hotel is elegant but not over stuffy. What made the experience special however were the staff. Always on hand to assist, with an air of discrete professionalism. Nothing seems too much trouble for them. Special mention to Geoff the concierge . . . . he even taught us to use the subway - Thanks Geoff! We will be returning to NY soon. We won't bother look elsewhere. Thanks

"Convenient, Comfortable and Amazing Views"
I travel regularly to NY on business and am there about 9 times a year. I run my own business and work to a fixed budget so, because of the large seasonal variation in NY hotel rates, I end up in either a 3, 4 or 5 star hotel. Luckily this was that time of year when you can get a 5 star hotel for 3 star prices, and the first time I'd stayed at a Trump hotel. Firstly, on checking in, I was offered an upgrade to the 35th floor for a reasonable daily rate, and I'm glad I took it. The room had an amazing view out to the Freedom Tower and Lower Manhattan, including from the bath tub! Everyone complains about the size of NY hotel rooms, but I've stayed in about 30 NY hotels and I have to say that my room at the Trump was generously sized, and positively large for NY. It was also very comfortable. So much so that I wanted to spend more time in the room, when normally I want to get out and about as much as possible. This was also the fastest WiFi i'd ever experienced in any hotel, so well worth the fee (which is normal in NY hotels). I also use the gym a lot, and the Trump had a nice facility on the 8th floor. Plenty of free water and towels and enough machines and equipment to keep most people happy. The maintenance guy even came in a couple of times to check that the AC was at the right temperature for everyone. All in all this was one of the best stays I've had in NY and I will definitely return - budget permitting.

"Beautiful place , central to everythng."
My trip was just an overnight to meet with friends. The Essex was simple to get to from Penn Station. We were fortunate to have the first decent weather in months, and so we walked across the street and through Central Park to get to the Upper West Side for our restaurant. Our evening was at Lincoln Center, again, just a short walk away from the Essex. and getting back to Penn Station was easy as well. In the hotel, my only chagrin was to find no robes ( I had packed expecting there would be one.), and no ice machine. but the front desk was ever-so-obliging to bring me ice at 2 AM. I thought that was very decent of them. although, the fellow who brought it did not look too happy. My check-in experience was terrific. It was a Saturday, but I had no difficulty when I suggested they place both of my friends on the same floor with me.. We had cocktails in the bar, again prompt and courteous. I had a lovely stay!

"Memorable for all the right reasons"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Affinia Dumont. The rooms were very spacious, even with 3 adults in them, and the beds were so comfortable we struggled to get up in the morning. Although we didn't really use the kitchen it was well equipped and we could see how the cost of eating out could be reduced through its use. The best thing about this hotel is the staff whose friendly, can-do attitude ensured we enjoyed our stay. With bars and restaurants nearby and the Empire State building literally up the street, this hotel provided an excellent base for our stay in New York. We would definitely stay here next time we are in New York.

"Beautiful hotel in a great NYC shopping area"
Myself and two teenage daughters shared a double room which was very spacious and comfortable. I really don't have any complaints as the whole experience was amazing, but it would be wonderful to have beds a bit larger as I'm small and felt big in the bed. Also, beautiful bathroom, but would have loved double sinks. That's all - will come back just the way it is.
