"Never disappoints!"
Have stayed many times at The peninsula and just love the location, rooms and the great rooftop bar. One negative. It badly needs to install Nespresso machines in each room,as $18 for a room service coffee is taking the mickey....

"Trendy hotel in a great location"
I found The Out via expedia and stayed here for a week while I was working in the area. It is a great location, just a five minute walk to the Port Authority Bus Terminal (great for shuttle access to both LGA & JFK). I stayed in a shared room and it was phenominal. Everything seems very new and clean. The beds were double beds and had thick curtains that blocked out most light and kept your area very personal. It was equipped with a locker for each bed making it easy to stow away personal items while you are gone during the day. Overall, great hotel & great value.

"Great hotel close to everything"
This hotel is very centrally located. It's close to shopping entertainment and restaurants. And it's right across from St. Patrick's Cathedral. The room was sizable and quite clean. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it to anyone.

"One of Manhattan's best!"
This is an outstanding hotel. Discreet, and in a great location, the hotel offers class and comfort in a slightly off the beaten track midtown location that offers midtown convenience with much less of the typical chaos and cacophony. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and quiet. There are tons of amenities included in the rate, and service was first class. Everything is done just right, from the subtle but luxurious decor to the infused waters in the lobby to the complimentary water and soft drinks in the room. There's even a great complimentary car service that shuttles guests around the surrounding area (in a Maserati Quattroporte, no less!) Service was friendly and fast -- nothing I asked for was a problem. The food's great too. I didn't eat in the Michelin star restaurant (A Fiori), but I did order room service and eat in the lounge, both of which are provided by the hotel's lounge kitchen, Measure. While these menus are not extensive, they have a good range of salads, sandwiches and main dishes at reasonable "mid town" prices. (Nothing in midtown is cheap!) I noticed that the lounge restaurant also had a good mix of non-hotel guests dining in it, and indeed were I a local, I would go there too. Overall, I felt very at home. Definitely my new "go to" hotel in Manhattan.

Fall in Love With New York

The best time of year to visit New York City is during the fall months. From September to mid-November, the weather isn’t too cold, and you’ll be able to see the beautiful foliage in bloom. Even if you’re staying in the heart of the city, you’ll still see all of the orange and brown leaves from the trees that line the streets. Central Park is the ideal place to visit during the fall, so you can take in the wide variety of trees, flowers, and birds. The park makes for the perfect romantic getaway as you’ll be able to take a relaxing stroll through the area or rent a rowboat. This pristine weather is also perfect for travelers who love cycling. Some of the hotels in New York even offer bike rentals as one of their services. During the winter months, you can take a ride on one of the local buses that can take you to one of the ski resorts north of the city.

Taste What New York Is Made Of

While you’re staying at one of the New York resorts, your taste buds will be on the trip of a lifetime as well. You’ve probably heard rumors that New York pizza is better than anything you’ve ever tasted, and when you eat at one of the local pizzerias, you’ll see why. As you walk through the concrete jungle of New York City, you’ll see an endless amount of locally owned pizzeria serving delicious slices as big as your head. After trying one of the city’s famous slices, you’ll be able to visit some of the most popular attractions, like Times Square. In this area of the city, you can spend an entire day people watching, shopping, and seeing a Broadway show. For a more scenic and historical adventure, you can catch a ferry out to Ellis Island to visit the Statue of Liberty. During your stay in New York, you should familiarize yourself with the intricate subway system, so you have a cheap transportation option when you want to explore the city.

Book a Resort With the Right Amenities

Expedia.com will help you find the perfect resort that has amenities to make your stay as convenient as possible. You’ll be able to find all-inclusive resorts with on-site restaurants and spas, or you can stay at a more family-friendly resort that has multiple pools and game rooms for the children. Many of the resorts in New York provide shuttle services to nearby golf courses, so you can go out and practice your swing while you’re on vacation. If you’re looking for a night of cocktails, dancing and mingling with the local New Yorkers, you can stay at a resort near Times Square or Madison Square Garden, which gives you easy access to nightclubs and bars. Some of the New York resorts have lounges that host happy hours or wine events, so you can enjoy a nightcap without having to leave.

    Local Geography

New York City is mostly flat, which made the city perfect for constructing skyscrapers and other buildings. You won’t have to travel far if you want to go hiking and enjoy nature because Upstate New York is only an hour away. Here, you can visit Harriman State Park, which is covered in colorful trees, and you can spend a day out on the lake. South of New York, you can plan a day trip to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, or the Garden State, New Jersey. If you’re looking for some diversity during your trip, each of the Five Burroughs of New York offers a unique atmosphere, and they are easily accessible by way of subway or taxi.
