Hotel Shattuck Plaza
4.0 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (1003)
"I loved my stay at The Hotel Shattuck. My room was very pleasant and comfortable. The hotel decor is beautiful and It has a good vibe. I was really impressed with the quality of the food as well. I would stay here again. The only downside is there is very little street parking and you have to park in the parking garage across the street at $46 per night. "

Berkeley City Club
2.5 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (510)
"Beautiful historic hotel. Lots of history. The dining room is gorgeous and the breakfast was really good. Rooms are small but that was expected. They are nicely decorated in the era of the building. There was a space type heater in the room which worked fine. Maybe the radiator doesn’t work anymore..Shower was strong and water was warm. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had the added benefit of learning about the history of the building and the architect, Julia Morgan."

7.0 out of 10, Good, (1003)
"It's comfy and cozy. Somehow they manage to cram all my favorite amenities—comfortable bed, plenty of electrical outlets, soft lighting, sturdy desk, chair that supported my back really well, etc.—into one small space. I'll definitely stay here again, and not just because it's in one of my favorite Oakland neighborhoods. My one quibble was that the hot water was lukewarm at best—but that's not a dealbreaker. I'm happy to call this place a home away from home!"
