Great for the price

This hotel has easy access to the highway and is well kept. The management let me check in very early and were very polite. The breakfast is free as is the wifi. Not a place for hotel snobs, but if you are a frugal traveler, this is the place for you. Clean, modern, and smoke-free.

San Francisco’s hidden gem

one of the nicest places i’ve ever stayed in SF. its about 7 miles away from downtown, but the area where its at is not too bad. It lacks food areas around the spot, but otherwise great little place. they also have a good continental breakfast in the small lobby.

Alpine weekend

We enjoyed our stay at the Alpine Hotel. It was clean, close to the local attractions and be easily accessed.

Good Deal

very clean and comfortable rooms, 2 queen beds in seperate room as well as bathroom with shower only. the owner at the reception was also very helpful everytime i asked about getting in the town or about the username and password for the wifi internet. i would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel.

Pleasantly surprised!

We needed an economical place to stay, but still wanted to make sure the rooms would be safe, clean, and comfortable. The Alpine Inn had great write-ups from other customers, so we thought we’d give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised. The rooms had a "cottage-like" exterior and were very clean and comfortable inside. The location is close enough to San Francisco for a quick drive into the city to see sights or take care of business. Good place to stay & save $$.

Don’t bother checking out the hotel’s local neighborhood. Drive to SF for meals and recreation.

good for business or leisure

i was on a road trip moving to SD and made a pit stop here for the night. the highlights: bungalow style rooms with free wireless internet access from the room and clean accomodations. refrigerator, TV and microwave in room: minor quibble is microwave was a little small, but not really a big deal. good parking and central access to highways to get to San Francisco without the SF price tag

The Inn was clean and they provided great service. It’s not in a very nice part of town though.

Very Impressed

The hotel was a very quaint and cute place with very clean and neat rooms. The manager of the hotel was very accomondating to us (we were there to do a bike ride) he had food out for us each morning the kind you need to fuel before a bike ride. He had little goody bags for each of us and had breakfast for us as early as 4:30am because he knew we had an early start. I was very impressed with how well he took care of us. I certainly would stay there again.

Easy In , Easy Out

Very nice for the price, easy parking ,very quiet more like a motel scenario but more comfortable. The only issue I had is the tv did not work in the seperate bedroom and it had no climate control in that extra room where me and wife slept. We were in Frisco to pick up our daughter from SFSU so it makes it great cause its not too far from the campus

This hotel was perfect for the price and for being located between San Francisco airport and the city, just off 101, near the Cow Palace. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, parking was free and easy, and it was a great 4-day stay. I’d definitley stay here again!

This is a decent hotel at a very reasonable cost

We have stayed here once before and it was perfect for our needs. First time to move our daughter into SFSU. We had a two bedroom detached "cottage" and we were able to park our van, for free, right in front of our room which relieved many worries. It’s a clean, decent hotel for the price and location - for us that is close to SFSU. This time was to move daughter into an apartment. You probably don’t want to go walking around the "neighborhood", but felt very safe at the hotel. The staff was excellent.

Great Service

I was taking the bar at the nearby Cow Palace. The Alpine Inn offer great friendly service. The rooms are simple and comfortable. They try to please.

Not the best neighborhood in San Francisco. However, if you are going to the Cow Palace, it is the perfect location

the hotel was nice and cosy very, cleen, and well kept. althought it was older you could tell the owner kept gr-8 pride in the hotel the only down side i found was the towels smelled like smoke :( but overall i loved the hotel

if you love sea food you have to try sanfransiscan it has the best food i have ever tasted a little pricy but defenitaly worth the price

I would go back

The hotel was very clean. The rooms were a little small, but wha do you expect for San Francisco. You cant beat the price for the area you are staying in. We were so close to downtown to SF and the freeways that I would stay here again in the near future. There was no problem with parking your vehicle. I also seem to be safe.

You could practically walk to the Cow Palace in SF.

Like Hills ?????

This hotel was OK, not quite what we were expecting, the hotel name is kind of misleading, but we were only there for one night so it suited our purpose. I hope that you have good brakes on your vehicle as it is on a very steep hill, anyone in a wheel chair or unstable on their feet beware, this place is not for you.

Great stay for the money

We were bringing our daughter to San Francisco State and stayed at the Alpine. We weren’t sure what to expect but it was perfect. The rooms were like separate cottages and we felt very safe parking with our car loaded with belongings. The rooms were clean - we had two queen beds and one was in it’s own separate room - great for a teen. The staff was extremely helpful.

Service was not good. Rooms OK, low quality.

An ok place to stay

This hotel was cheap, and looked very nice from outside. Service was friendly too. One thing I really didn’t like is the size of the room we got. It was definitely not what we ordered (we got full bed instead of queen). If you are claustrophobic be aware, room was as tiny as they get. And our bed was broken (Headboard was detached). There was only one chair in it, so I had to eat breakfast sitting on the bed. Other than the size, everything else was good. Free continental breakfast, very clean. About 20 minutes from SF downtown.

There are lots of parking in the downtown by the piers. Almost every pier has it’s own automated parking lot, where you can leave you car for a whole day. Cheapest one I found was $14 for whole day. Parking miters by the piers are free after 7 PM

Nice hotel. Rooms are a bit aged (esp. the bathroom) but they had a nice interior furnishing everything worked properly and they were clean. It’s close to the 9x express bus to Powell and Fisherman’s wharf, so it was easy to get to San Francisco. And parking is easy in front of the rooms. Look out for the internet special.
