Denvers Best

This hotel was amazing! Complementary wine and hors d’oeuvres every evening. The staff was amazing, offering suggestions on the best places to go and how to get there, they felt like friends. Not much of a view from the room, we had an inside room, but was very stylish and comfortable. The restaurant served an incredible breakfast.

Charming ~ Outstanding Service

The Monaco was fun experience..From being greeted by "Lily" upon check-in, to the afternoon friendly social hour in the beautiful cozy lobby, to great dinner recommendations for dinner from the very hip staff, to the large comfortable uniquely decorated room. I was traveling with my teenage daughter, who also loved the hotel. I would definitely stay again and again. Only concern was the surrounding neighborhood that housed several shelters and missions, hence a great deal of very visible homeless individuals. For safety, if you are traveling alone, or in the evening. take a cab to near-by Latimer Square.

Go to Latimer Square for dinner ~ The entire block is lit up and beautiful, and lined with great restaurants and bars as well. Please remember to donate to the street meters (that look like parking meters) that assist the homeless population in Denver.

Monaco surprise

Good-size rooms and bathrooms with an eye toward being "green," which is fine and admirable, however, I found the room a bit too dark due to weak lightbulbs. I had to ask for an extra blanket and a bathrobe, as they weren’t provided automatically and there was no hand lotion in the bathroom. That said, the breakfasts were wonderful and the valet parking efficient. It is within walking distance to great restaurants. It was a good value for the money. I plan to stay there again on my next visit.

The Friendly Monaco

I had a lovely visit with my granddaughter at the Hotel Monaco in Denver. The staff was friendly and polite. The room was immaculate. We especially enjoyed their wine hour each day. Mingling with other guests was easier and fun. We ened up playing a board game with a young couple from another state until we were ready to go to dinner.

WILL GO BACK NEXT TIME TO DENVER

The hotel staff was great. Just 2 blocks down from 16th street everything you need is there. No parking at hotel but the vala parking was just great. Try to take the bus or traim it will take you all over.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Bus or traim will take you all over down town for just little money.

Great Hotel w/ VERY expensive parking

Great boutique hotel. Clean, comfortable and very quiet. Staff was very friendly/helpful. Great location. Everything about the hotel was wonderful. Beware of the parking rate... $28/night. OK, its clearly marked, they don’t try and sneak it by you, but more expensive than any other hotel in the LoDo area. Will definitely stay at the Monaco again but investigate parking at one of the many garages around the hotel.

Traveler's tip on dining

Make sure you go to the Rock Bottom Brewery just around the corner

Great staff

We booked at the Monaco because of the great deal and while it was not as nice as the Hyatt the staff were awesome. The first morning we were awoken @ 8:30 by some pounding. After calling the front desk they apologized saying that maintenance was to be finished the day before. For the inconvenience and to ensure we were not disturbed again we were upgraded to a great suite for the rest of the week.

Traveler's tip on dining

The Rock Bottom brewery on 16th is a must also take the free 16th street bus to Wyncoop Street and walk a block to the Wyncoop brewery for some great food and beautiful pool tables.

Another great stay at a Kimpton hotel!

Close to downtown, this hotel had every amenity I needed and the valet service was the best I’ve ever had. They also recommended a great place to get a "real" breakfast - Sam’s #3. Would definitely stay there on my next visit!

Very friendly staff, great hotel

Loved the hotel, great location, very friendly hotel staff. Only complaint was the bathroom. We were given a wheelchair accessible bathroom and every time we took a shower the entire floor got wet. Other than that, we had a great stay and would stay there again.

Good for a relaxing getaway

This hotel is in a good location, about a block off the 16th street mall with lots of restuarants and shops. The hotel had valet parking which was a little expensive but nice to not have to find a place to park. The room was very clean and quiet-great for a short getaway.

Traveler's tip on dining

Go to Sam’s No. 3-great breakfast food and they have tons of choices.

Great Location

Location is great with most downtown areas of Denver accessible by walking or taking the free 16th Street Mall bus. Helpful staff, nice room but beware pets are allowed if you are not an animal lover.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Use the free 16th Street Mall bus service to get to downtown areas of Denver from Coors Field to the capitol.

Excellent overall experience

Came through Denver with my family. Chose the hotel for its location near Coors Field and other venues. Great staff. Good recommendations. Room was spacious and well appointed. Bathroom was small relative to room, but not a problem at all. Will return.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Walking distance to Coor’s Field and 16th Street Promenade. If in Denver, go to Snooze for breakfast. Among best in country!

Downtown Denver Dazzles

Perfect location. Spent overnight before IH-70 zoom to Vail. Wonderful bar w food service from hotel’s gourmet Italian restaurant. Calamari to die for. Desserts also (Rhubarb tart w in-house-made ice cream mmmm). Close to downtown’s new 17th (18th?) street day and night shopping, no-cars strolling. What a smart thing for a city to do. Would stay here anytime & recommend to others. Thanks, Expedia.

Wonderful Staff

I would definitely stay at this hotel again. When we arrived the bellman quickly met us to take our many bags up to our room. The check in staff were knowledgeable and courteous. The hotel has an air of whimsy to it. The view from our window was less than impressive, but the room itself was quite spacious for the price we paid. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was adequate size. There was a 2 person desk in the room and an a moire. We did not have enough towels in our room and the staff responded to our request immediately. The happy hour was well attended. The location was excellent. We were able to walk to a baseball game. Getting our car out of valet parking was very quick.

Expected a little more

The staff was very courteous but not responsive to requests. The beds are average at best. I would expect better from this class of hotel. The spa was fantastic and the location is great.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

This hotel is within walking distance of everything downtown Denver has to offer whether catching a baseball game or event at the Pepsi center.

Made up for bad experience at the another downtown hotel

Everyone at the Monaco was as nice as they could be and we had a great time there. We showed up in the middle of the night after we had a bad experience at another downtown Denver hotel, and the Monaco staff made us feel great and welcome. This place was extremely accommodating for our puppies; the room included a pet bed and bowls. I wish every city had a hotel Monaco. The hotel also had a pleasant happy hour in the lobby that we enjoyed.

Traveler's tip on dining

Breakfast downstairs at the restaurant wasn’t included in room rate, but the food was outstanding. We ate breakfast every morning there and it was perfect.

Denver Fun!

Loved this hotel! Room was cheerily decorated, staff was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. Location was great for walking everywhere downtown. If I could think of one drawback, it would be the $50 cab ride to downtown from the airport.....The restaurant is great--be sure to try the grilled caesar salad, it’s to die for, and the bar makes a great bloody mary. Loved the goldfish, almost made up for not being able to travel with my doggie.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Can ride the bus up and down 16th St. for free, pretty handy.

Fantastic experience

This was the most enjoyable hotel experience that we have ever had. From the decor, location, service, and the goldfish in the room it was a delightful, memorable experience. In addition, it was moderately priced.

We can’t wait to go back to the Hotel Monaco!

We had a wonderful stay here. The room was clean, the staff was exceptionally courteous, and the decor was unusual but beautiful. We enjoyed the wine tasting, and just sitting in the lobby. I would recommend using the valet parking, much easier. I would also recommend trying the restaurant next door. The food is great. We will definitely stay here on our next weekend getaway to the City.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

This hotel is just a block away from the 16th Street Mall making dining, shopping, and exploring downtown convenient and fun.

Gets 5 stars from me

Exceptionally nice place to say and not far from LoDo entertainment district and 16th street (open mall shopping)....good place to take a walk after dinner. Consienour is very knowledgable of the area and events. There are quite a few good restaurants within walking distance.

Traveler's tip

Panzano restaurant oper by Hotel Monoco gets high marks; food was v-good and the quick room service is impressive. 16th St mall has "FREE" bus trans...runs all day & no wait time. Take a walk to the river & cross over the bridge. There is a concrete landing almost even with the river that you can put your feet in...water is cold & refreshing after a long walk. NOTE: Starbucks is loc in the camping store (very large store for all of your camping needs) & near this landing...enjoy!
