you get what you pay for

We chose this hotel for 1. free parking and 2. the price. My boyfriend and I took a roadtrip and wanted to spend as little money as possible. We were only there for 1 night and thats about all I could handle. It was clean but not in the best location.. it took us about 35 minutes to walk to the wharf... if youre staying for one night then go for it.. however stay somewhere else if its for any longer than that.

very small, informal

It was a really small and informal hotel, not as nice as it looks in the pictures, a building in one picture is not even part of the hotel. kinda dirty, no breakfast, only coffee, good location though, free internet

Get what you pay for!

The hotel is inexpensive but that is aabout all I can say good for this place. The parking is terrible, a mid-size car will barely fit in the parking spaces. The room we stayed in was small and old. the electrical outlets had no coverplates so a child could easily shock themselves. The AC/Heating unit sis not work and they had a portable heating unit and a fan in the room. My girlfriend and I were freezing and luckily had each other for warmth. There are many other nicer motels for the same price on the same street and closer to more restaurants, bars and stores on Lombard.

I would use this Hotel again

The rooms are big, very comfortable and clean. My fellow travlers and I enjoyed our time there and would return again. The people at the Hotel were very nice and helpful. There were resturants and small shops within walking distance to explore. As for transportation it is right out side the Hotel to go to other places.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Great place to stay for the price. It has the convenience of a small studio.

Not impressed

O.K. place to stay if you just want to sleep and shower. The pool closes at 9pm instead of 10pm like most other places I have stayed, so not much time for relaxing in the pool. Not very child friendly. Some outlets had no covers, lots of dangling cords. A/c leaks lots of water outside door so everytime you step out the door you are standing in a big puddle of water. They have free parking, but it is very hard to park, barley enough space to turn a mid size car into. Front desk people were very nice and helpful. Like I said before not to bad if all you need is to shower and sleep, but next time I think I will spend the few extra dollars and try a diffrent hotel.

Good Experience -- a little overpriced

This was a pretty good hotel and covered all the basics well. The room I had was the smallest, according to the layout plan posted on the door, but it was adequate for one person. My only complaint was that my room on the second floor was easily accessible from the backyard of other building. Since the room didn’t have air conditioning, I would have liked to have kept the window open, but given that anyone could easily climb in, I didn’t feel too comfortable leaving it open. Also, there isn’t a person available at the front desk 24/7.

very rudimentary place

The motel was somewhat rundown in a good area of the city. Service was mediocre and the pool was OK but needed attention to be heated. Parking was limited. The room was large and sufficient for the 3 of us. Large number of restaurants in the area of good quality.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

This was satisfactory as long as you don’t plan to spend much time in the motel. It’s good enough for sleeping but not much more. Very reasonable, especially for San Francisco which was the most expensive city I’ve been to in the US.

Quiet room

Nice place to stay. The beginning of a day or evening is just a block or two walk away. Good food within walking distance (across the street)fuel, pharmacy, deli, and bus transportation only two blocks away. The pool was extremely clean.

Traveler's tip

Nice place to rest. Parking is premium at best. Get in early, or park and use local transportation.

Not Impressed

Hotel room was the smallest room i have ever been in my entire life. The heat came from a heater they brought into the room that plugged into the wall. Wasn’t very clean. Hotel owner was very help full about how to get around town and places to go very nice guy. I wouldn’t stay there again tho.

You get what you pay for??

My initial obsevation was where’s the elevator? there is none. The room had a very small electric heater that could not heat the room even at full blast, the TV only got 4-5 channels there was no microwave in the room and the sheets were so thin I could feel the mattress I didn’t even unpack but asked for another room the next day, I was given another room the noise from the above room was so loud I wished I had stayed put oh! the electric heater in this room was also faulty and kept going off and on. The room was somewaht cleaner, the towels felt like sandpaper and the bathroom had a nice shower. The cleaning lady did an excellent job. Would nor stay again

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Be careful if you’re looking for just a place to put your luggage and party this may be the place for you.

Mixed feelings

Pros: * pretty cheap for the area (within 10 minutes of a lot of attractions, often less) * friendly service when we checked out * spacious room Cons: * no wireless internet * bathroom was in dire need of repair The bathroom kind of ruined it for me and I would have given a completely negative review if my companion had not shown me the light. Bottomline: If not for the bathroom, it wasn’t bad.

Room too cold

The room did not have central heat, just a little space heater that didn’t work correctly. The room was entirely too cold with no curtains in the cold tile floor bathroom.

Will never go back!

Not enough parking. Stair banisters swayed six inches either way. No elevator. Management was rude. Management charged us more money for stay. Windows would not stay open. Bad neighborhood!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Attractions are all close by and San Francisco is a lot of fun!

not all that impressed

We had a a couple uninvited guests (mice) fun across the floor and the hotel management didn’t seem to care as they stated they had not received any other complaints. Other then that the stay was fine.

Will likely return

It was small and quaint, but room was very clean, manager very helpful and friendly. If you get there late you will not have a parking space, but it’s right on a very good bus line and extremely easy to get around.

Over all the hotel is need of repair

Bathroom toilet was leaking. The cost of the hotel was too high for the quality.

Huge room, decent motel, would go back

Huge room in the marina. Pretty much a studio apartment with living room. Just not 4 or 5 star quality but would definitely stay there again for the location and size of the room

Inexpensive option for a tight budget

The hotel is very clean, its just really run down. For the price and the area, its a good price. The comfort is minimal, sheets are paper thin and the pillows are like a bag of cotton balls. However the staff was very nice and hospitable, and I would stay here again.

Sketchy neighborhood

great space, good size room. not much parking and pool was closed. Neighborhood was OK but wouldn’t want to be out too late at night. need to take bus or taxi to get to BART or other tourist areas. We had a great time and would stay again for the rate

Not Impressed

At first blush, this small "botique" looking inn looked like a nice place to get a good night’s sleep. The tiny parking lot was full, except for a Handicapped area, and the traffic in front of the place was non stop. Check in was uneventful, and the lady found my reservation in no time flat. I noticed a coffee caraffe and juice machine in the corner while checking in and asked if there was any coffee or juice available. She said no, only in the morning, and encouraged me to stop by in the morning for some "hospitality". Our room was upstairs, and since there is no elevator, we had to lug our baggage up a flight of worn out looking and food stained stairs. There was plaster dust and caulking compound all around, and it was apparent that there was some updating going on. Next morning I went down to the office to make good on the proprietor’s offer of coffee and juice and lo and behold, the door was locked, and no one was there. There was another man outside with me, and he turned and said "looks like they are still in bed sleeping". This was at 7:00 am, and the office door was closed, lights out! I never did redeem the empty offer of coffee and juice, and walked down to the local corner diner a block away for a nice breakfast. Just down the street (towards the Presidio) is another very nice hotel/motel which looks 100% better. I think the rates are the same, but room availability is something you may want to check into before leaving for your trip to S.F.

Suited Our Needs

Large clean room and very quiet for being right on a main road. A bit far from town but close to the bus line on Chestnut. Nice clean pool and right across the road from a great takeout place. try the avocado burger!

Above average motel

Well equipped room for the price - fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, iron, hairdryer, radio-alarm, TV - all in good working order. Cleanliness and decor was pretty typical and acceptable. I would stay here again if I needed to be in the Marina Green area on another visit to San Francisco.

Not bad for the price paid.

For being down in the marina area, I was satisfied with the hotel at the price I paid. Very large rooms, and decent location for the price. Only draw back was the overall appearence of the place.
