Love, love, love San Fran. Hyatt

Stayed at the Hyatt Oct 4-8, 2009. Perfect location to both the cable cars and F-Line street cars. Room was excellent!! All staff were so friendly and helpful. You don’t have to pack shampoo, toothpaste, lotion, hair dryer, iron, ironing board - -- it’s all in the room. Had daily breakfast at the Hollywood cafe just across the street --- good food and prices. I will agree that parking is very expensive. I asked for the $32.00 rate and got it. Expensive, yes, but better than their advertised $45/day rate. Didn’t tip the valet parking guys every time they brought out the car. Just gave one tip at the end of the stay. I will definitely stay there the next time I visit San Francisco!!!

Hyatt at Fisherman’s Wharf

Excellent location and the staff members were helpful and very friendly. Our room was excellent and the cleaning staff was efficient and thorough. We would definitely stay at the Hyatt again. The Enterprise place, (to rent a car), nearby was excellent too. It was very accessible and the manager very nice to deal with.

Great location, Great hotel

The Hyatt at Fisherman’s Wharf is a great place for a vacation stay. We were able to walk to many attractions and restaurants. It is probably the quietest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The beds were so comfortable. Perfect place to stay!

Traveler's tip on dining

The Hollywood Cafe across the street from the Hyatt had fantastic breakfasts - delicious food and wonderful service.

Unhappy

We were unhappy the moment we pulled up to the hotel. They offer Valet Only parking at $45.00 a day. That wasn’t advertised. The room service amenity I requested and paid for PRIOR to our arrival was not available when we checked in, despite being told that it would be waiting for us. I was told that room service wasn’t available at that time and that I had to wait. Kind of defeated the purpose. Upon checking in, I was told that I was getting a smoking room with two queen beds. I reserved a non smoking room with one king bed. I had to request that AGAIN. And, one two separate occasions our privacy was violated by the housekeeping crew. They entered our room despite our request for privacy. All that was offered to make up for these mishaps was an "I’m sorry" and we won’t charge you for a bottle of water that you utilized in your room. We won’t be visiting this hotel again.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Use public parking facilities around the corner for a few dollars in savings.

My experience at the Hyatt was nothing short of amazing. The hotel is very centrally located in Fishermans Wharf. It is near anything you need. Public transportation is also with in a block away. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The customer service was absolutely fantastic. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Really enjoyed our visit.

This was a very nice hotel located within walking distance to Fisherman’s Wharf. We were also able to take public transportation to other spots we wanted to visit. Several nice eating places, one right across the street. Concierge was extremely helpful with getting us to where we wanted to go and how to get there.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Scomo’s Restaurant, recommended by our taxi driver was great. Hollywood Cafe across the street was very good with large portions, we shared breakfast entres. Enjoyed Coit Tower, Alcatraz at night (book ahead). Walked on the Golden Gate Bridge. Walked alot all over. Took a bus to Golden Gate Park, you can easily spend an entire day there.

Great place to stay

Centrally located for all the attractions: Pier 39, Wharf. Girardelli square, and only 5-6 blocks from China town and the pier for Alcatraz. No need for a car, either walk or take cable car to all attractions. Hotel Parking is very expensive and so was breakfast prices at "Knuckles Restraunt" associated with the hotel. Excellent breakfast across the street from hotel at "Hollywood Cafe" and at half the price

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Walking distance to all major attractions and breakfast at the Hollywood cafe across the street was reasonably priced and fantastic.

Right There

Hotel is 2 blocks from Powell-Hyde cable car and 1/2 block from Powell-Mason Line. Up hill ride to Union Square. Two blocks from wharf. Knuckles is a sports bar that had all the games on. Guys Dream Would stay there again.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If you are there for multiple days buy 3 day cable car pass. It makes it easy to jump on and go. If you take the Powell-Hyde line your still only 2 blocks (downhill) from hotel

Perfect place to stay

The hotel’s location is within walking distance of just about everything, and it’s only 1-2 blocks to catch a cable car or city bus. The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgable. The hotel was clean and quiet, and the beds were SO comfortable! I would most definitely stay here again.

Will return

The hotel was at a great location, the staff were helpful, very nice, answered all our questions. The room was very spacious, clean and neat, cleaned everyday we were there. The only change would be free internet to guests. Plan to return in the future and will very likely stay at the same hotel.

Great location, service was extrordinary, you’ll love it too!

40th Anniversary trip! We stayed at the Hyatt at Fisherman’s Wharf from Sept. 15 through the 23, 2009. The weather is awesome this time of year. There were two possible room types that we could choose from and we were given keys to both to access and decide. There was a larger room with 2 double beds, and a slightly smaller room with a king. We chose the king. Comfy beds! We requested & got a fridge. The pool was heated to 82 degrees. It’s 3 to 3 1/2 feet deep. The hot tub was not huge, but cozy. It was a nice place to chat with others also. Other visitors also liked the hotel. Our desk clerks & consierge were helpful with suggestions for some meals. They also helped with which bus connections to use on our adventures. The consierge also helped us navigate with the MUNI transportation system to get to places like Golden Gate Park. (FYI: No bus stops IN the park, but go through the park, get off the bus on Lincoln and walk back into the park.). We visited the Japanese Tea Garden at the park. Lovely!.. and we had TEA!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Breakfast at Pat’s Cafe on Taylor past the Cable Car terminus. Pancakes smothered in fruit! Pelligrini’s/North Beach: great pizza. China Pearl/Chinatown,upstairs restaurant, suggested by hotel. Get a MUNI pass: covers your bus, trolley & cable car needs! (Cable car alone is $5.)Book excursions ahead of time. Cable Car Museum/control barn is FREE, at a car stop. You don’t need to rent a car! Do Muir Woods/Wine country: Extranomical Tours! Do City Tour on day one to get oriented & great facts!

Clean, comfortable and GREAT location!

This hotel was everything we needed for our trip. Front desk service was friendly and helpful. We used the concierge multiple time during our stay and she was always very helpful and even made dinner reservations for us. The location was super. It was close to most public transportation (the cable cars and f-line cars). And we loved staying at the wharf where a lot of the action was along w/ beautiful scenery and close to the water and seals on pier 39. The hotel also had a beautiful bar/restaurant downstairs that we went to several times. Good food and drinks. The only negative I can think of is that there is not a complementary continental breakfast and that you have to pay a fee for wireless internet. However, I still highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Use the concierge when you have any questions, no matter how small. That’s what they are there for and they can save you a lot of time trying to figure things out.

Great location on the wharf

Great location 2 blocks from Fisherman’s Wharf. Had a great sport bar in the hotel. Directly across the street is the BEST place to eat breakfast and lunch (not open for dinner). Its only has a few tables, so will have to be selective when to eat, but GREAT food. Hotel does not have a gift shop or place to buy beverages, but close enough to other shops thats not a big deal.

Not worth the money.

Felt the rooms were too expensive! You need to be in good physical shape since the rooms are very far away from the elevators.

Nice hotel, Great location!

This was a beautiful hotel, we just didn’t find the staff overly helpful. Quick short answers was all we got from them. The valet staff was great. Never waited long for the car - but do expect to pay the $45+ fees to keep your car in the area.
