The hotel and the layout of the facilities is extremly convenient. The grounds are immaculate. Maid service because of a language problem, unless you speak spanish, is unpredicable. There are seven or more resturants in the complex; however, they are not open at the same time. You may get as little as three choices. After all that I said, I would go back in a heartbeat.

Honeymoon in september

This hotel was by far the most amazing hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Anywhere! The food was spectacular (I especially liked the brazilian steak house.) The service was incredible, the people that work there really strive to satisfy you. The comfort level overall was the best part, no matter where I went on the premises I felt completely relaxed. I can’t wait to return.

If you can work it out try to go during the off season. Our trip was at the beginning of september so the hotel capacity was way down when we were there. Also if you want to try all the restuarants the guys will need everything from dress shorts and a t-shirt to close toed shoes, dress slacks, and long sleeves.

This place was incredible.everything was beautiful ,the beach ,pool ,the landscaping ..everything was well kept and clean.me and my husband were there for a week in mid august and we stood at a master suite at the reserve and it was the best .The room looks exactly like it does in the pictures.The workers were all very nice,juana at front desk was awesome,osiris (waiter at the beach)the best.

The restaurants are not so good. I am from Brazil. The Brazilian restaurant was worse. The meat was horrible. it is very different of the restaurant of Brazil.

Nice Place to Stay

My wife and I went on our honeymoon to Paradisus and we were upgraded to the Reserve. The room was quite comfortable and clean. The pool area and surroundings as well as the exclusive restaurant were top. We also loved the white sand beaches and the warm water at the sea. We had dinner at different restaurants of the resort and they were quite nice and food was different from the buffet.. Staff was always ready to help and friendly. Transportation service within the Resort is not efficient and it would be the only complaint that I have.

2nd stay - better than first

2nd visit to Paradisus Punta Cana. Stayed in the Reserve section. Great Room, great property, enjoyed the food. Make sure you use the concierge for dinner reservations and book these early. Also enjoyed the golf at the Cocotal, the Melia owned course...

Wonderful vacation at Paradisus

This was the third time me and my husband have stayed at Paradisus and we love it. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. There is plenty to do at the resort or you can just relax, which is just what we did. The buffet food is on the bland side, but the other restaurants have good to very good food. The only drawback is that there are people around trying to sell you a timeshare or trying to get you to stay at the Reserve. We ate dinner at the Reserve one evening at it was very good. However, I feel the Reserve is too far from the beach and it just doesn’t have a Dominican feel to it. I go to the Dominican Republic and when I’m there I like to feel like I’m in the Dominican Republic, not Boca Raton. I would highly recommend this hotel.

A wonderfully relaxing time

We were in the Reserve. The rooms were more modern and updated and I preferred the lunch buffet at the Gabi better than the buffet by the beach. The Reserve is really not far from the beach- less than a 10 min walk. Our room was clean and looked like the photos on the website. The beach was beautiful. The quality of the sand and water was great! There was no problem getting a chair at the beach or pool. Our biggest complaint was that we could only get 1 restaurant reservation. However, we employed our own system of each night showing up where we wanted to eat with a few dollar bills in our hand and that did the trick. The food was good, but it was not world-class. There is not much English spoken by the staff but I don’t think this was really a problem. Included activities take longer than you’re told they will take. No one is in a hurry to do anything, and that is the pace of life on an island. Overall, I really enjoyed this hotel. All I was looking for was a relaxing time with good weather, a nice beach, and unlimited food and drink, and that is exactly what I found. I think the quality of this trip was very price-appropriate. I think most of the negative reviews are from people who can’t relax no matter where they are and who cannot take little curveballs in stride.

Check out the local nightclub, Imagine, which is inside of a real cave. The hotel had a shuttle bus service that left the hotel at 11:30 and returned at 4:30. 4:30 proved too late for our group, so we took a cab home! Just be warned: you can have a photo taken of your group upon entry. If you choose to buy it, only buy ONE! They give it to you on a CD so you can just copy it for everyone else.

Expectations were not met.

In reviewing the hotel’s website and viewing the photo gallery, I had high expectations of what our room would look like. It was very decieving because the room I thought I was getting was nothing like the website. Our toliet leaked, there were ants in the bathroom, and the room was rundown. Also, the cleaning service was not very efficient in cleaning and restocking towels, toiletries, and drinks. However, the food at the restraunts were delicious and the overall service was good. It wasn’t by any means a bad experience; however, I would not return to the resort.

Great beach getaway

very nice resort. Excellent beach w/ plenty of shade cover and lounges. Staff very friendly and helpful (esp. if you try out your Spanish). Room was large, comfortable and very well kept. They will try to give you a timeshare pitch but easily accepted a ’no, thanks’.

Book reservations in the specialty restaurants AS SOON as you arrive - they were excellent - there is limited seating and are booked days ahead. The daily buffets were fine but nothing special. Loved all the fresh fruit and seafood.

we are a family group of 12 and we stayed at "the reserve". it is by far the best part of the hotel, the rooms are very large and modern!Everything was amazing, specially the attention of the staff (my regards to osiris, marcia and mariana! trully wonderful people) we made reservations for many restaurants in advance with the concierge. SAKURA (my sister in-law is japanese and thought it was pretty good) AND VENTO ARE THE BEST! try not to dine at the buffet restaurants they are not so good. my only complain is that the distance to the beach is a lot, specially in a 90f weather, and the cars took for ever to pick you up from the beach to the rooms, apart from that, we had an amazing vacation. the pools, the beach, and the hotel in general, is in fact, a paradise!

Nice beaches and resort

Aircondition is not as cold as it should be in the room. The room smells rotten, the jacuzzi is not as expected, the pictures lies... The food is good, the roomservice is excellent, the beaches is wonderful, the resort is really nice. Its hopeless to do a reservation for the restaurants, all fullbooket at first day. The drinks in bar are fake, you must ask for double doze. But - its a nice place.

Nice place and beaches, the resort area is so clean and beautiful. The service should be better from some of the guyus. PR desk shuld be much better. They should be better in english language.

Best Vacation Ever!!!!!

The whole vacation felt like we were living in a Paradise. The experience throughout the grounds was like being in the most beautiful tropical garden, where you could see all types of flowers, trees, and birds. The fragrance of tropical flowers was there all through the day. The atmosphere was very peaceful and tranquil, perfect for meditation and yoga. The food and service was wonderful! However, making restaurant reservations was a nightmare. We were there for 14 days, after struggling,complaining, and begging for the first 7 days, we finally got a reservation to a restaurant which was not the one of our choice, or the time we indicated as our preference. The concierge was not helpful at all! She failed to inform us that we could go directly to the Reservations Counter at the entrance of the Hybiscus Restaurant and make our own reservations.

If the Concierge tells you that all restaurants are full, you can make your own reservations by going to the the Reservations Counter at the Hybiscus restaurant.

Great Place for a Honeymoon!

Our stay was excellent. We loved all the white sand beaches. One thing that other reviewers mentioned was ask to be upgraded to "The Reserve." The Reserve is basically an upgraded hotel within the hotel that costs extra. Because we didn’t want to pay extra, we didn’t get to use their exclusive restaurant or their exclusive pool. All the restaurants were excellent and we recommend making reservations as soon as you arrive. The breakfast buffet is also good. I wouldn’t recommend upgrading to a jacuzzi suite... we did but didn’t use it because the bathrooms were small. Overall I would recommend this hotel, there are lots of activities and an amazing huge pool, which is where we spent most of our time.

Everything was wonderful!

The hotel was very clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and aimed to please (99% of the staff). We had a great time.

AMAZING Resort and Vacation!!

My boyfriend and I along with another couple (all in our mid-20’s) went to Paradisus on a recommendation from a family member. It was a great trip. The staff was friendly and the grounds are beautiful! We were upgraded to The Reserves which was spacious and beautiful. The attention to detail was remarkable. We had an issue with the lock on our patio door and the air conditioning as well. We made a call to the front desk and within 5 minutes, someone came to fix it all. We can’t wait to go back!

Make the dinner reservations as soon as you get to the resort but do it before 3pm. We went in July (during "off-season") so the not all restaurants were open daily. Do some research before hand and ask about the dining situation as soon as you check in.

Best Vacation Ever!

We take lots of vacation and we like to go to different Island. Thiss was the best vacation that we took out of all. The resort is worth going. It was really a great service. Can’t ask for more that what we had up there. It was just a wonderful expwereince. The kids club, the pools, the Ambience of the hotel was excellent. The Family concierge is the best package. They provided us a cell phone and a personal conceirge who took care of us 24/7. Great place can’t wait to go back and would not change a thing about this vacation.

Not so impressed

Nice restaurant decor, good food and nightly entertainment. Lovely beach set up as well as beach activities. In the room there was old furniture, locks on terrace door didn’t work, air condition varies from room to room and expects an army of ants on anything sweet left open like scented lotion, empty soda bottle, used cups etc...

Beautiful place, but lots of problems

NO ONE working at the hotel speaks English; didn’t have air conditioning at the entire Reserve for one night; had to ask/beg for bath towels EVERY DAY; had to ask for the pull-out couch to be made EVERY DAY, and SOMETIMES it would get done; restaurants closed often

True Paradise

My son had told my husband & I about this Paradisus and I’m so glad he did. The property, staff,and facilites were top notch! So impressed with the staff, so friendly and professional. We never left the resort, enjoyed being just there. Would go back in a heart beat!!!!!

Pack light! It’s very casual. My husband wore slacks and shirt to the restaurants at night, I wore sun dresses. During the day, you stay in your bathing suit.
