I went during New Years weekend. Resort was beautiful and clean pool was nice beach was nice. How ever, dec-jan isn’t a really good time to fly to the Caribbean weather wise (windy, cloudy, not really pool weather)
I give the resort 3 stars aside from how clean and nice the pool was because when we checked in they didn’t give us the room we booked due to over booking. The food and drinks were not it. Drinks were super watered down margaritas were not good (very cheap liquor) if you want anything like patron or Hennessy you have to buy a bottle which we did but when we just wanted a cocktail at the bar or the pool the drinks were not good. Buffet was ok. Room service food was bad and cold . The food at the restaurants weren’t good either i think apple bees taste better then what they served their food lacked seasoning. But i guess you have to keep in mind all inclusive resorts are Americanized so don’t think you will get any authentic Dominican food here or anything close to stk type of food. The only good thing we ate was at the Asian one and we had habachi they cooked infront of us that was good. Other then that food wasn’t anything over then 2 stars. Also keep in mind due to covid 19 Dominican Republic has a curfew starting at 5-7 pm so if you want to do anything outside the resort must be early as far as excursions.
