Beautiful but not for the younger crowd

This is a very nice hotel although it doesn’t really suit the younger crowd. My husband and I are in our mid 20’s and we aren’t partiers or anything but we were definelty the youngest ones there. Not a big deal since the resort is well spread out and we were able to do our own thing most of the time but I don’t think I would stay there agian simply for the fact that I felt a little out of place. I guess I’m just not used to being waited on hand and foot...which this resort does wonderfully! It’s very beautiful, the beds are super comfy, the food to die for, and the staff is great!

A Beautiful Surprise

From the moment we arrived to the minute we left, we could not have asked for better service. The grounds are beautiful and staff more than helpful giving us directions and tips. Would love to go back.

We didn’t have a chance to plan day trips before hand so we went to the concierge 1st day and she helped us make a plan for each day including great places to eat along the way. I will not bother planning ahead from now on if there is a concierge like the one at Royal Palms Resort.

Romantic, relaxing retreat

We enjoyed a wonderful mini-vacation at the Royal Palms. The property was lovely and private. Our room, while small, had everything we needed. The pool area was beautiful and the service was great. Our waiter was particularly entertaining and made for a fun time. The food is pricey, but overall very good (the breakfast burrito was our only big disappointment). We would definitely stay here again.

Extremely Impressed!!

My husband and I stayed at the Royal Palms resort for our honeymoon! The staff was wonderful! The resort was beautiful and very relaxing!! We loved it!! ...and the couples massages are awesome!

BEautiful Resort

The resort was beautiful. The room was beautiful and comfortable. I had my own patio which was very private. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the resort fee is pretty steep - $25 per day. I’m a good tipper, but I don’t find myself tipping that much per day for maid service, ice delivery, food delivery, etc (not including meal tips).

I took a "Detours" trip up to the Grand Canyon which was a great way to spend a day. The concierge, Mona, is very helpful with anything you need or want to do.

A definite come back!

The hotel was amazing! Beautiful location, great service! The only thing not mentioned up front was $25 daily resort fee,but totally worth it!

Feels like Old Country

Nice Place, friendly staff, but...

The Royal Palms is in a good location, very picturesque, well kept grounds etc. Close to restaurants and shopping if you have a car, if you do not everything like this is pretty far away. The first room we were given was on the first floor and it was ok for the first two days. Then someone moved in upstairs and we did not get any sleep for two nights. The place looks well built, but has squeaky wooden floors and the people who were above us were heavy footed and up off and on all night. So I went to the desk at 5 AM the second morning and complained and we were moved that afternoon. Better room, second floor. As others have mentioned, they charge an extra 28.00 plus change a day for, according to the paper you sign when you register, valet parking, gratuities, internet service and maid service. Unfortunately the valet parkers, room service people and maids expect additional tips, so the 28.00 a day really should be included in the room price quoted by Expedia since it added over 220.00 to the cost of our room basically for a free newspaper each day. The Royal Palms is nice, but I am not sure I would want to stay there again if I go to Phoenix.

Restaurant at the Royal Palms is nice too, but pricy. Breakfast for two of us was just under 40.00, dinner is much more. We ate out a lot. The North Arizona Casino is only about 8 miles away it has great food, cheap. Two can have a great dinner for well for under 30.00 including a good tip. They do allow smoking in the casino so that could be a turn off. Stay away from the Melting Pot in Scottsdale. The food is way over priced and so bad we couldn’t eat most of it.

This was the best!

I can’t stress enough how wonderful the Royal Palms Resort was. It was such a service oriented vacation and the staff were supurb. Can’t wait to return. The whole experience for the time we arrived to our departure was just the best! We have traveled to many resorts both here and abroad and this was one of my absolute favorites.

T Cooks in a 5 star restaurant. You really don’t need to go anywhere else unless you just want to explore. Several fine restaurants in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area.

Wonderful hotel

Very nice place indeed. Makes you feel more at home than in a hotel. I highly recommend it.

Best Hotel Ever!

This was the very best hotel I have ever been too. Only thing I didn’t like was that they have to get your car for you everytime you go anywhere so you felt obligated to tip everytime, which they said is why they charge the $25 resort fee, but they still seemed to expect a tip. Very Very beautiful place.

We really enjoyed ourselves it was awesome. I was a little disappointed at check out when I realized the newspaper was not complimentary. I already knew about the $25 a night resort fee.

Can’t wait to go back

The atmosphere of this hotel causes the noise of the world to settle down for a bit. The peacefulness of the grounds, the soft music playing when I entered my room, the polite compentency of the staff helped make my stay a pleasant memory that I have revisited several times.

Very beautiful and comforting lodging with extremely well kept grounds at the base of Camelback Mountain. Will definitely stay again if the opportunity presents itself.

Exceeded expectations

The Royal Palms is gem and the gardens and courtyards are spectacular. It was secluded, quiet, and relaxing.

Extraordinary Experience

This hotel was above and beyond my expectations. Absolutely beautiful scenery, service that was friendly, courteous,& helpful on every level. I was so comfortable in my room. The spa was Great! The steam room on the 2nd day was out of service...but was up and running by day 4! wonderful pool..Dining was exquisite!!!

Not necessarily for kids....but they will surely feel welcome.

Perfect retreat

I can’t wait to go back. This resort offers great last minute deals. I highly recommend this place for anyone that is looking for a wonderful place to stay. The rooms aren’t brand new (just so you know), but rather very eclectic and charming and extremely clean.

Excellent place to relax and feel pampered!

This was our second time staying at the Royal Palms and as expected they provide wonderful service and the food is delicious. Everyone is very helpful and efficient. The room we stayed in was the Montevilla terrace. Very comfortable and loved the oversized tub. One thing that is somewhat frustrating is they tend to charge and have fees for everything. There is a one time fee that goes towards gratuities, but then they also require you pay a second gratuity fee for any extra service as well as a third option to pay gratuities when the bill comes. But overall, we’d stay again to relax and feel like celebrities. Because of the cost, I’d go through Expedia again rather than paying Royal Palms directly. Better deal that way!

European style in Phoenix

Great decor love the hotels theme. Centrally located and an added plus was when I went to the Pool. Beyonce and her entourage were in the Pool.

Excellent value - only one hidden cost

The only downside was the hidden $25.00 service charge at check-in it should have been devulged in the initial pricing.

Great Lux, amazing restaurant!

Overall the hotel y amazing, very nice details in every corner. The restaurant T.Cook’s is one of the best in the world! Bad thing was our suite had a "funny" smell and just couldn’t get rid of it, even after spraying it with scents and other things maintenance couldn’t fix it.

HIdden Treasure

The service at Royal Palms was outstanding. We were greeted right away wherever we went on the property. Room service was amazingly fast. The food was excellent. Although we never ate dinner at the main restaurant, we did have breakfast there. We had lunch poolside twice and the service and food was excellent there as well. While sunbathing, the attendants kept our water glasses full and quickly put up a large umbrella for us when we were ready for shade. The property was just beautiful as well. You can’t see it too much from the road, but once you’re there, you’re surrounded by lovely foliage of evey type, flowers, palm trees and humming birds. The Spanish style buildings are rustic and elegant as well. We completely enjoyed our stay at Royal Palms.

Highly Recommended

We stayed for one night before driving to the Grand Canyon. The service was excellent throughout, including check-in, bell-hop, and valet. The room exceeded expectations, was very clean and extremely comfortable. One complaint was the unexpected $25 per night resort service fee that was not disclosed.

Absolutely Outstanding

we have stayed at virtually all the 5 star properties in phoenix/scottsdale--this was our first experience with the royal palms and it was superb--the grounds are beautiful, the rooms lovely, the food excellent, and the people are the friendliest most accomodating folks you could ever meet--wonderful experience
