Beautiful Hotel, Very Comfortable

The hotel is quite beautiful and the room was comfortable and quiet. Easy walking to Eddie V’s for dinner (great restaurant overall, ask them to go easy on the pepper if you order steak), decent breakfast at the hotel. Would definitely stay at the Renaissance again if back in the area.

For a 4 star hotel, I was not impressed.

For a 4 star hotel, I was not impressed. They give you nothing, no continental breakfast, water & sodas in machine were hot, not cold. Meals too expensive. When it rains which it did every day there is no way to get from parking garage to hotel (with or without luggage) without getting soaked. I’ve stayed at less expensive hotels & suites & got free breakfasts, even fixed to your liking, covered parking, better rooms. Wanted no smoking room, got a completely enclosed patio which can only be used for smoking. Smoke leaks into room. Can’t even sit there, even to smoke. Would not even cash a check unless you are a member of that hotel chain. Other hotels do.

Lots of shopping, if you like to spend money. Did have some good restauants within walking distance, if not raining.

The staff were excellent from the bellhops to the cleaning staff. Everyone was so nice and courteous. We loved the interior design of the hotel. It gave us a feel of being somewhere else even though we were enjoying a staycation...

I’m ok with the experience

Very nice hotel in beautiful setting

Upon our late arrival, we were told that the hotel was overbooked. The young woman at reception was very apologetic and had already arranged accommodations at a more than adequate hotel close by. We were driven there in the Hotel limo and treated royally. When we returned to the Renaissance the next morning, we were greeted with further apologies and compensated for the inconvenience with an upgrade to a room on the Concierge floor for the three-day remainder of our stay, and a voucher for the restaurant. The service and quality of the hotel were certainly such that the small inconvenience was easily forgotten! I recommend this hotel to anyone. The grounds and the surrounding area is beautiful with many quality and affordable restaurants and shopping opportunities. A beautiful and safe setting for walking, with many large trees and shaded landscape areas.

Wow! what a great stay

This hotel is just what we wanted. We were looking for private and quiet and we got it. But I could tell if you wanted to be more engaging this hotel would accommodate you as well. Loved the herbal soap what a nice little touch.

Great getaway!

From the beginning to the end, our trip was special. Greeted by a new hostess who was wonderful, our experience was so enjoyable. Enjoyed the breakfast brunch the next morning.

Really nice and comfy

I loved the duvet on the bed and the mattress seemed comfortable to me, although my husband didn’t think so. The bathroom was clean and nice, except for the lighting. I was very impressed with the overall appearance of the hotel and would definitely go back.

Beautiful place but....

We stayed there when the daytime temperature was in the high 90’s and the air conditioner in the room was totally inadequate to cool the room, although it was very cool in the lobby. Service in the coffee shop was slow bordering on incompetent and service in the bar was abysmal. Service in other areas was very good.

Would highly recommend this hotel. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were very pleased. Attentive staff. Great buffet! Quiet room. Nice amenities.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

As it turned out, we ended up hosting two of our teenage grandsons and one of their friends. The pool,sauna,jacuzzi, weight room and adjoining shopping center provided all of the entertainment options they needed to keep busy.

Convenient

While the piano playing until after 9 PM at night can be a bit difficult to block out sleeping, the hotel is beautiful. Hotel staff has some tenure from the familiar faces and those folks are polite and solid. I get the sense that some of the newer folks are not as comfortable as they seem a bit tense. Overall though, good food, good room, VERY convenient both within the hotel for "ammenities" as well as within walking distance of a lot (Arboretum lake, many restaurants, bookstore, etc). For the area it is the best hotel.

Pool is good. My son loves the coffee/sandwich shop on the premises - enough variety there as well as a "cool" set up to him them happy. You can just leave the car and take a short walk in the "woods" to get outside or around the shops that are literally right next door (incl. ice cream, "gaming" shop and bookstore)and LOTS of restaurants within a very short walk if you wish to go outside of the hotel for food. My 7 year old says it’s his favorite hotel.

Solid Hotel

My only complaint was that they room did not have robes. I would have also liked a mini-bar. Otherwise, I was happy. Good service. Nice room. Nice beds. Easy wireless connection.

Good Hotel in Austin!

The place looks great, is well maintained, very clea, spacious and enjoyable. An easy recommendation in Austin.

Great place to stay!

The staff went out of their way to be friendly and courteous. The rooms were well furnished and extremely clean. Even with a full house, the hotel was quiet all night long. Didn’t eat at the restaurant--there were so many other places in the area.

Generally a Nice Hotel

Stayed 10 nights on a business trip.Generally satisfied. Room with Nice Decor. Small bath.Competent and helpful staff. ompulsory valet expensive. Galleria is close and yet not convenient to get to from the hotel location.

Wonderful Treat

I have stayed at this hotel several times before and am always relaxed and refreshed the next day. It’s a great location if you need to be in NW Austin or just love shopping at the Arboreteum. There’s a nice nature trail in the valley behind the hotel.

Austin’s Best Hotel

This is a great hotel with excellent service and staff. The fitness center is first class with a TV at each cardio machine. There are plenty of cold and dry towels to use during your work out, and they provide apples and water...great place for exercising! The indoor and outdoor pools are wonderful. The hot tub could have been a little warmer, but still very nice, and I loved the sauna. Room service was excellent. When my hair dryer went out, I had a new one within 15 minutes. The rooms are very clean, and the staff provides plenty of toiletries and towels. The breakfast has a variety of food including lots of fresh fruit and freshly made omelets. There are great restaurants, movie theaters and shopping all in walking distance or less than a mile drive. I am looking forward to coming back soon!

The hotel is on the premises of the atrium shopping center with lots of shops and good for strolling and window shopping. Build in some extra time to enjoy! The Cheesecake Factory is within walking distance as well.

An Austin Favorite!

As a Rennaissance "frequent" stayer - I would rank this one in the top 10. Wonderful accomodations, fabulous location central to everything.

Wondeful time.

This is a very beautiful hotel. The room was very clean and well kept. The Lobby was huge and very impressive. The room service was prompt and had a nice presentation. The food was moderately priced and very good quality. The workout room was nice, a good but not large variety of machines but all of it was upkept. One nice feature was all the treadmills had thier own television with headphone jacks. There was armotherpy chilled towels available for after workout as well as strawberry infused water inside the workout room. The staff was very helpful. The hotel is located in the arboretum area of Austin and there are plenty of restuarants and stores in the direct vicinity.
