Sox game trip
The hotel said they where one miles from the stadium. That was a stretch, but it was only a $10 cab ride. Getting to Turner field is easy by cab, getting back is tougher with everone leaving at the same time. Hotel staff was great. The doormen at the front were helpfull and friendly especially one named "Sinatra." Great place to stay near a lot of cool stuff.
Traveler's tip on dining
Ted Turners Montana grill, one block from hotel, is very good. Tough to get into at night, go on off times. Must do the circular bar at the Westin across the street.

Room felt out of balance and dingy
Room felt out of balance and dingy. Also, paying for internet nowadays is ridiculous. I cant believe they wanted to charge for it.

Nice Marriott in Hot-lanta!
Rooms were comfortable and clean. Nice large bathroom. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful.I really liked how they had a computer dedicated for printing out boarding passes. They have a nice restaurant with good food. And the location is close to other nice restaurants if you want a change. I would go back.

Decent
Clean rooms! Helpful staff! Bath & Body Works soap/lotion, etc! LG flat screen TV! Close to Philips Arena, CNN Center, and about 1-2 blocks to Peachtree Marta Center. Charged for internet use and to park my car there ($28 a day for parking seems like alot?!) No fridge for adult beverages and no microwave if you bring some snacks along with you. Probabaly wouldnt stay again however.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Have a drink across the street @ the Sun Dial restaurant in the Westin!

Good hotel for Downtown Atlanta
I would definately stay again, very nice and comfortable hotel for the price. The hotel was within a short walking distance to restaurants, parks, and tourist spots. One of my better stays in downtown Atlanta--the bums in downtown are still an issue, but that has nothing to do with the hotel.

Best in Atlanta!
The location of this hotel is suberb! Short walking distance to most activities. The best part of our stay was the service. This is the most friendly and service oriented hotel I have ever stayed at in Atlanta. The room was outstanding, extremely comfortable and quiet. All the amenities were perfect and parking was a snap. A definite plus in downtown Atlanta.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Go the the Georgia Aquarium early in the morning to avoid the crowds and get the most viewing. It is truly worth the effort. Coca Cola Museum is boring except for the tasting room. It is truly a "museum" and nothing like what we expected. Try the CNN tour. We didnt get a chance but wish we had. Centennial Park is very nice and leisurely. Grab a sandwich and just enjoy the scenery.

Okay
The room was very small, although cute. Staff members were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The maid only left enough towels and washclothes for one person, so my husband and I had to share. The people who park cars thought that they had lost our keys, although were found. Overall was a good hotel and I would return in the future.

Helpful staff
The most helpful staff I have ever encountered. When we drove up we were clearly frazzled by Atlanta traffic and the detours due to an upcoming marathon. The bellman was so nice and helpful. He got us to relax and got us to our room without lifting a finger. The next day we had a similar experience with another doorman. I am planning my next stay.

Will Be Back
Hotel was great! We were in town for a hockey game and we were surprised how close to the arena we were! We really enjoyed walking through the Centennial Park! We wished we had time to stay and do other fun stuff in Atlanta, like the ice skating rink in the park and the Aquarium, but we had to save it for another trip!
Traveler's tip on dining
Go to Ted Turners Teds Montana Grill right down the street for the best burger ever!

Not very impressed
I was not impressed with the hotel....The people were just wonderful....I have no complaints whatsoever about the service offered by them...but the hotel building was old...the corridors were very dim...the room had no iron nor an ironing board...on the whole, the ambience of the hotel was not at all Marriott like...

Best in Downton
This hotel was truly great. I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff and their eagerness to please. It should have been listed as a 5 star!

Will make this my hotel of choice each time staying in Atlanta!
The Atlanta Marriott Downtown was extremely clean in all areas. The decor was of the upmost beauty and class. The staff were very polite, professional and assisted in all my needs while in town for a weekend trip. The valet parking was an excellent thing to have in my opinion with the downtown location.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Within walking distance to the Aquarium, Centennial Olympic Park, The Tabernacle, Hard Rock Cafe, Peachtree Plaza Mall, and many, many more shopping and dining, and entertainment experiences downtown has to offer. Great choice!

Convenient location, great service
We stayed at the Atlanta Marriott Downtown with our children while visiting Atlanta for a long weekend. The facility was spotless, the room clean, and the beds very comfortable (the most comfortable in any hotel weve visited according to my wife). Our room even had a balcony overlooking the pool and CNN center. The hotel is a couple of blocks from the Georgia Aquarium, Centennial Park and the new World of Coca-Cola. We walked to all those places very easily. The one drawback is that the valet parking fills quickly - we were there on a slow weekend and it was full. The closest parking is about a block away in a pay parking deck. Not a huge deal, but be sure you get everything out of the car before you park. A block walk at 11 pm is not always fun.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
If you want a balcony, you should request a room with two double bed versus the king bed and pullout sofa. According to the front desk, the double bed rooms are the only ones with balconies.
