“After booking, we repeatedly messaged the hotel for directions and only got a reply at 7:55am on check-in day, telling us the only boat left Cartagena at 8:15am. No way to make it. They then sent a contact for a 9am boat costing 90k + 30k port tax, though cheaper 70k options exist. Given boats run only until 9am and transport can cost as much as two nights’ stay, this should be clearly stated before booking – we could easily have missed the first night. “The receptionist spoke no English. The room had no safe. A cockroach was in the room. There was no “Tranquility” at Freedom Beach. Not anything near what was expected. The only quiet time is after 20:00 hours when the crowds which start arriving at 9:00, have gone home. Disappointed. The bathroom was so poor, I couldn’t take a shower or sit on the toilet. ”

“It was clean. It is like a tiki hut. No wifi, no tv. Updated bathroom. They had a nice private plunge pool. They came and took dinner order. It took awhile to get dinner, but they are walking up mountain. It is not for anyone who can't do a lot of stairs. I would have liked a blanket on the bed and hot water. Overall, I recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy nature and the person they are with. ”
