The owner tried to disguise the smell with air fresheners and by leaving the windows open but the smell of damp was still immediately apparent on entry. Had we been staying longer than 2 nights and not arrived so late in the evening on the first night we would have left. "Everything was amazing and so easy. Received great instructions the day before check in with videos etc. The check in process was a doddle, as was checkout. The comms via whats app was so efficient. I requested the chance of a later check out and they managed to extend this to 11:30 no questions asked. Room was stunning, bed was SO comfortable and it was less than a 10 minute walk into Ambleside. Also highly reccommend the stone baked pizza hut next door - AMAZING!!!! Would most certainly stay again"

"2nd time stayed here and had the same lovely room. Stayed in dog friendly room no. 1 with lovely huge bay window overlooking Loughrigg. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Looked after our dog with lovely sausages. Great location for hiking and bars/shops/restaurants and very good price. Great atmosphere in the bar area and lovely breakfast. Payable car park not far from accommodation."
