“Was using this hotel as a stopover while driving to Sorrento from the UK. The hotel was immaculate and extremely modern and in great condition. It was very convenient for our stopover as right next to the motorway. They person on reception while we were there was extremely helpful. On the night we stayed the hotel restaurant wasn't open but he recommended another local restaurant which he booked for us, and his recommendation was spot on.”

“We were initially uncertain about booking here due to some negative online comments; however, very happy we did! it would be difficult to pristinely maintain the property as it is historic and quite large, so if you’re looking for something with every modern amenity, this is not the stay for you. However, the property is a gorgeous setting and the buildings are quaint and charming. Our room was very spacious - a bit of noise transfer through the bathroom. Pool area is beautiful! “The hotel is conveniently located just a short distance downhill from Piazza Garibaldi (the entry to the main pedestrian zone of Cortona). However, parking is on-street nearby and arriving on a fine Saturday afternoon, it was challenging to find a space. The Castle of Montecchio Vesponi is a walled, castle with turrets and battlements, which occupies the top of a hill (Montecchio), overlooking the Val di Chiana, named and drawn on a well-documented survey map by Leonardo da Vinci in 1503. Many cultural events have taken place within its walls, including art exhibitions (the last being one of works of Manzù), concerts, folklore festivals, re- enactments and events in the local dialect. Famous visitors to the Castle have included the late Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother (of England) who came to learn Documentary Moviesmore about the castle and the area and owned in 1384 by another Englishman, Sir John Hawkwood (known in Italian as Giovanni Acuto).
