A really lovely hotel in a great location close to Hawkshead. Great service from the family running the hotel, and lovely food in the restaurant. We stayed one night with our little dog and he was made very much at home with a truly 'pet friendly' welcome.
Family Managed Property, comfy, clean and top food
The staff , chef and management were excellent. The food was amazing, the bed super comfy, the setting quiet.
It is run by a Mauritian family and they were super charming and really understood the importance of good hospitality.

Very friendly staff and nice and clean
The menu for breakfast and dinner was limited as to choice and could do with having an alternative some days
I asked for a sandwich at 3.15pm and was told the kitchen was closed even though their information page states soup and sandwiches until 4.00pm
We stayed in room no2 and we are active 70 year olds but found getting out from the shower/bath was a big step and waiting for an accident to happen
The Inn was in a quiet village near Hawkshead. The dinner and breakfast menu and food served was really good and tasty. The room facilities were ok - but a lot of noise from the people in the room above walking around.
The warmest welcome we have had in years. All the staff were do friendly and wonderfully Room very clean and deliciously warm. Shower great. Bar lovely with open fire. Good menu and the roast sunday evening was stupendous. Defo recommend a stay
The staff here were wonderful very attentive. The rooms a good size and clean couldn't fault. We had breakfast and evening meals on two nights and they were excellent
Gorgeous view of the fjord - couldn't do better. The reception area had a bit of cigarette oder but the room and breakfast room were fresh and clean. The hosts were kind and the breakfast wonderful.
My brother and I had an excellent stay at the Cuckoo Brow Inn. The Cuckoo Brow Inn is the ideal quaint B&B in the Lake District for a very reasonable rate. The staff were very friendly, the restaurant served up delicious traditional Cumbrian fare for breakfast and dinner, and the room was comfortable and updated (appreciated the clawfoot tub). Couldn't have asked for more.
Booked a double room online for myself priced £144. My husband decided to join me and there was an extra charge of £30. I needed an early start as was offered porridge, a banana and a yoghurt takeaway.
My husband went for breakfast and there was very little in the way of offerings which was little disappointing. The room was comfortable and quiet and very close to Cunsey if you are booking for The Lap.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
The room and bathroom was stark and held only the basic necessities. No facial tissues. No decorations to make it feel cozy. Food and service were good. Owners friendly and inviting. Parking very limited but that was the whole area.
