Everything we used was functional and in good repair. The window covering was strange: they had a pull down blackout shade that had a photo of a city on it. To open the shade would be to lose privacy, because there were no curtains or shears to let in any light. Upon check-in, there was a sign that threatened a $50 fine for disturbing adjacent guests, or for theft. We didn't view that as welcoming. There was no complimentary breakfast of any kind, which we expected because it was advertised. There was no coffee pot in the room. Maid service was fairly consistent. I chose the room for the rating online but I would not stay there again. So far I've had 3 less than average experiences with hotels in Alexandria, LA. Still looking for a winner. Fiance's family is there or we wouldn't travel there.

The staff was friendly and helpful,but the property was poorly cleaned and maintained.

I stayed here at least 10 times, while working nearby. Twice I’ve had to stay in different places due to no available vacancy, and both times I was reminded how much I truly appreciated the hospitality, warm welcome, privacy and convenience of staying at Loyd Hall. During my 3 months of regular stays here, it began to feel like a home away from home. Priced fairly for the many amenities and accommodating hosts. I’ve made special requests a couple times and was met with prompt response accommodations. I will always choose to stay here when working in the area.

Ideal location for the golf but the hotel rooms need a major deep cleaning as does their gym. Breakfast was good enough and the staff was friendly.

Clean, quiet location.
