The Vicarage Geraldine

The Vicarage Geraldine

10/10 Excellent
"The Vicarage at Geraldine was absolutely amazing and the perfect place to stay. We stayed for two nights and couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable or welcoming experience. Our ground-floor room was directly opposite the beautiful communal space, which was so well equipped with everything you could possibly need. It really felt like an extension of our room and was such a lovely space to relax in. The room itself was beautifully decorated, incredibly comfortable and had everything we needed. We particularly loved all the thoughtful little touches that made the stay feel extra special. We had breakfast at Barker’s, which was absolutely delicious and a real highlight. The staff were wonderful too. We met two different members of the team during our stay, one each day, and both were incredibly friendly, warm and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The Vicarage has such a lovely atmosphere and attention to detail, and we would happily stay here again. A real gem in Geraldine!"

Fiery Peak Eco-Retreat with Stargazing & Wood-fired hot tub

Fiery Peak Eco-Retreat with Stargazing & Wood-fired hot tub

10/10 Excellent
"Kay was wonderful to deal with. My wife and I needed a break from the world. This was the perfect place to do that. From playing games of Battleships (Yes, they have it there!), sitting by the fire reading, or on the deck with a cheese board wrapped up in a warm blanket watching the sun set and naming the sheep to relaxing in the hot tub looking up at the stars. We also managed to jump into the plunge pool that has been created in a nearby stream. We will definitely be back. Can't say enough about this beautiful spot."

Peel Cottage - A Romantic Country Retreat

Peel Cottage - A Romantic Country Retreat

10/10 Excellent
"What a find! Our family thoroughly enjoyed our winter stay here at Peel Cottage. We appreciated having the fire and extra heaters available to warm it up (it was extremely cold weather) and highly recommend our strategy of parking a heater in the kitchen. The lounge was our favourite place - blazing fireplace, comfy chairs, and huge selection of board games. The bathroom stays frigid unfortunately, but it was great to have hot water on demand for a good shower. We can imagine this would be an incredible base for summertime walks and bush adventures. Even in winter, we loved getting out to Emily Falls, driving up the Rangitata road for stunning stargazing, and road trips to nearby towns. The hosts were extremely responsive and helpful with our questions. Thanks for a great stay, hopefully we can make it back!"

Phoenix Motel

Phoenix Motel

8/10 Good
"I made a mistake with the booking date, and the host was great at helping me change it. Good location if visiting family in Temuka. Rooms are a bit cold (not unusual for NZ buildings - poor insulation is the norm for older buildings in NZ). The motel provides heaters in each room, which helped. Across the street from Night & Day dairy, good for snacks and supplies. A good option in the small town of Temuka if you dont want to trek from Timaru or Geraldine."

Holiday House with Style - Geraldine Retreat

Holiday House with Style - Geraldine Retreat

8/10 Good
"It was a great place. Walk into town accurate once you found the pathway ( clearer instructions here would've been helpful). Place was lovely and clean. Communicating with host easy and quick. I didn't give it 5 stars for 2 main reasons. Car parking inaccurate. It is only a 1 car driveway NOT 2 (We needed 2). I was told all basic everyday items were there. Huge list of prohibited shower body soap yet didn't supply any NO SHOWER SOAP. If you're soo particular about this, supply it please. Also, NOT ENOUGH HANDSOAP so we had to buy. This may be petty but disappointing, as we did ask if all supplied, we booked for 6 people .... please don't be so cheap."
