Beachfront on the Dunes -- Fall Asleep to the Waves

With views in all directions, there's a feeling of floating over the sea. Directly on With views in all directions, there's a feeling of floating over the sea. Directly on the ocean, this home is newly remodeled, tastefully furnished and wonderfully airy. Top floor is a spacious open plan great room with chef's kitchen, wrap-around deck and working gas fireplace, all overlooking the sea.

The main bedroom with large bath and oceanfront deck is on the second floor. The second bedroom is actually two rooms and also opens to the deck. Bunk room can sleep five. The fourth bedroom is down one level with its own full bath.

Sand footpath over two dunes to the beach--the walk takes a minute or two. This at the southern end of Avon, with more views of dunes rather than of other houses.
Beach chairs and umbrella, boogie boards provided.

Gas grill on top deck.

Roku TVs in every room, streamers provided.
Speedy wifi and dedicated work space in fourth bedroom.

Free access to large community pool in summer and tennis courts and Pickleball year-round, a few minutes away.

Great Family Spring Break Retreat

This was a perfect location with two families of 5 with children ranging from 18-9. Quiet enough to hear the waves all the time, but stores close enough to walk to. We had the beach to ourselves the whole week, and the weather could not have been better. Plenty of space and places to relax. Looking into coming back next spring!

Beautiful Views

My sister and I stayed at Beachfront on the Dunes and it was a fantastic vacation. The views were incredible. The house was very roomy and comfortable. It’s equipped with several TVs, books and plenty of games. I had to text the host with a question and he got back to me immediately. Choose this house for a 5 Star vacation experience.

Fabulous View & Location

The view is incredible! It was nice to wake up and hear the waves. Nice, large deck and furniture to sit on while you relax to the waves and view. Saw gorgeous sunrises as well as a moonrise one evening! Good location between Graveyard of the Atlantic museum and Cape Hatteras to the south and Nags Head and Kitty Hawk to the north. Owners were very responsive when we had questions. Highly recommended!

Great beach house!

Booking was super easy and communication was friendly. The house was clean, comfortable, well stocked with everything we needed, and conveniently close to the grocery store. The ocean along this particular stretch of beach would be a little rough for young kids to play in but was fine for our group of adults. We had a great time and look forward to a return trip.

Wonderful family beach trip

Amazing property and location! Saw dolphins from deck and walked the beach everyday. The location is perfect to get to Ocracoke island and visit the light houses. Kids had a great time and the house had all the beach equipment we needed. Hosts were responsive and helpful with a few small issues. We would love to stay here again!

Beautiful views!

This house has the most beautiful views of the ocean from the living area and patio. It is a very easy walk to the beach which was clean and enjoyable for the kids. The hosts did a great job of providing chairs, sand toys, and boogie boards. As expected for the area, the waves are huge so less actual swimming took place, but for young kids the beach and playing in shallow areas is perfect for what we wanted. The outdoor shower was super handy. We greatly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend if you want a relaxing atmosphere with a beautiful view.

Amazing beach house

This is a spectacular beach house in the outer banks. We had an absolutely wonderful time staying here for six days. The views are spectacular and we all had some great memories made of the sunrise and sunset every single day along with walks on the beach. All of the bedrooms, the living room, and the grade room Were immaculately clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with all of the silverware, pots and pans, and a full pantry. We were three families, and all of us enjoyed staying here. Every single amenity that Won could ask for was available. The hosts were incredible and all of the instructions for check-in, and check out and for our stay Were available well in advance. This place is definitely one for the memories and we will definitely look forward to coming back here after year.

Friends OBX getaway! April 2025

Five ladies enjoyed a comfortable 6 day stay. All communication with the owners was very prompt and helpful. The house was very clean and stocked with essentials to host a bigger party than we even had. Plenty of room to be all together to share time, as well as individual space when desired. Washer and dryer is super handy. Thank you.We enjoyed the sunrise over the water each morning. Great opportunity to look for shells and creatures washed up on the beach. The beach erosion has caused the beach access to have a steep drop-off. Be prepared for a sandy climb. There are plenty of beach access points for the ocean or the sound if the house access isn't for you. Be prepared for many stairs in the house. The climb is good for exercise, but challenging when carrying multiple coolers and luggage up. Teamwork is great. :)The house location is great. Easy trip to Hatteras Lighthouse (under construction), The Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum, ferry to Ocracoke, and The Apple Blossom, among many others. Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, and Corolla are fun places to visit. Avon is best for a quiet southern OBX place to stay.

Bougie at the Beach

The first thing I want to say is this property is STUNNING. I could not get over the views of the beach from the top deck, the luxury of the entire home, the damn near private beach. All of it was gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. We also loved the small gift of a beach blanket and cookies upon arrival, super sweet of the hosts! With that being said for a 3.6k stay in a million dollar home, there were minor details that could have made the stay that much more luxurious. My family friend noticed wasps, on all decks. I had not personally seen any nests and animals are unpredictable, especially at the beach! Though, for a dang near 4K cost, wasp nests on the decks is not something you want to worry about while on vacation, especially having a small child stay with us. Secondly, my sister, a maid by trade, noticed heavy dust under the dressers, thistles in the carpet on the stairs (also not great for kids especially!) and there looked to be a dried blood like stain on the wall near the bottom stairs. Again for the costs, you would expect a super clean space upon arrival. The jet tub looked more appealing than the experience ended up being because it took forever to fill up. I was also kind of sad the hammock was not on the master bedroom deck as pictured in the photos. Other than those minor details, the stay was beautiful and I 10/10 would come back again next year! Even for it being the off season it was a beach trip my family will never forget! Thank you Stacy, Karl and Lucy!

The house is as wonderful as we hoped it would be! We loved the bright, open spaces, location, and view. The house is so well stocked with essentials and ample towels (bath, beach, kitchen). We cooked every night and had everything we needed to bake, fry, grill and more! The master bathroom is huge with a large tub and walk in closet. All of the bedrooms feel so private. We visited Buxton for the seafood and bookstore and checked out Connor’s market. Took a day trip to Ocracoke and the Wright Brothers’ memorial. Visited Bodie lighthouse and watched the sunset while wading in the sound. Made a stop at Island Spice & Wine and found a great coffee shop, Uglie Mugs. We hit the beach every day and while the dunes were certainly challenging, it was worth the work. Karl and Stacy were great communicators and answered all our questions. We could not have asked for a better experience or host. Avon is peaceful, natural, and beautiful, and the house fits it perfectly. One of my favorite beach vacations of all time.

Beautiful view and peaceful

The stay at this house was great, perfect size for our family. Even though about an hour from nags head there were still local shops/food and things to do. The dunes were a bit hard on my in laws to walk over to get to the beach but we took the opportunity to drive on the beach a block away a few times. The host was very responsive as well. Barely anyone on the beach and the town was very cute and felt safe. Highly recommend! Thank you Karl and Lucy!

Well appointed home with towels, linens, and kitchen amenities. Living space was wonderful for cooking, eating, and playing games as a family. Views were excellent. We have been to OBX three times and this was the best, we would stay at this property again.

A great beach house

Overall this was a great beach house. There were minor maintenance issues and beach access is challenging - while it is an oceanfront house the path over the dunes is a difficult climb, especially for toddlers and adults with knee issues. But it had everything we needed and was in a quiet area with beautiful views.We went out for dinner twice. The local Chinese restaurant was acceptable but unimpressive. Diamond Shoals in Buxton was expensive but well worth it.

Great house to disconnect

Great house and the views are spectacular. There are high dunes in order to access the beach, so if you have anyone with disabilities, it will be very hard for them to go down to the beach. Close to a Food Lion supermarket. The manager/owner was great and shared many options to go and visit. He responded promptly. Overall, great house to relax and disconnect.

Great OBX location

Great home in a great location. We really enjoyed our family stay in this home. House was clean, beds were comfortable, and kitchen was well equipped. Location was quiet and allowed us to explore everything from Corolla to Hatteras with reasonable drives. Communication with the host was quick and thorough. I would highly recommend the home.

Perfect GETAWAY

We went to OBX for Christmas week for a peaceful and romantic getaway. We wanted plenty of room and a well equipped kitchen. We were not disappointed. Everything we needed to make prime rib and steaks and so many other great things was provided for us. The house is beautiful and when you step into the main living area you feel like you are home. The house was immaculate, the furnishings are comfortable and stylish and there are cozy spots everywhere. This was one of the best trips we’ve ever taken. We would go back in a heart beat. We took a lot of stuff with us in case we needed it and ended up leaving it in the car because the house was so well stocked. Owners are very responsive and helpful. Loved it!!!

Perfect beachside home.

A perfect beachside home. Fantastic location with wonderful views of the beach and ocean. The home is very well appointed with everything and more to make your stay comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook for a large group. We would happily stay here again.

Family Beach Week

Beautiful, clean, welcoming beach home. This is a home that is owned and decorated by people who love the beach. It has a warmth and a personality that makes it truly a great vibe for a stay at the beach. Also, the proximity to the beach and surf view is the best we've ever had. Also, kitchen fully equipped, as attested by the two professional chefs who are our family members. To be absolutely perfect, the house could add some high outdoor deck chairs so that the view of the ocean would be unobstructed by the deck railing.

Get lost in the tranquility

Loved staying @ the Beach House! The views from the living room were absolutely stunning, I could sit there all day and get lost in the tranquility of the ocean. The house was so clean & spacious. We are a family of five, with teenage/adult children and everyone had more than enough personal space. Loved having a stocked kitchen and also an outside area that had everything you needed from surf boards to chairs/umbrellas. Very peaceful section of the beach, not crowded at all! Karl was extremely helpful answering any questions/concerns we might have had. Food lion less Than quarter mile away so getting groceries was simple . Added bonus of a community pool, which my husband loved for early morning laps. Kids and I were sad when we had to leave, we will miss the views and the great memories made in Avon this summer.

Breathtaking Views

The home is beautiful and spacious, allowing everyone space to do their own thing or come together for meals, games, etc. We spent many meals gathered at the beautiful dining table and then moved the living area for family games. The kitchen is very well equipped, with a plentiful supply of dishes and cookware, and a large fridge and pantry. The bedrooms were nice, with comfortable beds and bedding. The beach access is a pretty easy little walk, but would not be manageable for anyone with mobility issues. Same with the house itself, as there are 39 stairs and 3 levels. The ocean itself is rough and not really swimmable unless you are an excellent swimmer. The pool access down the road (11 minute walk or 5 minute drive) is a nice bonus and the pool itself is warm, clean and refreshing. There’s a shaded picnic area for taking in food and beverages. We split our time between the ocean and pool. Overall we had an amazing trip and will most likely rent this house again when we return in a few years!

Great Oceanfront Property

Truly as pictured. This Oceanfront location was perfect for our needs. Short and enjoyable walk to the beach on the path through the sand dunes. Sunrises, sunsets and stars at night all viewed from the deck. Responsive Host. Comfortable and clean inside environment. We would stay here again!

Amazing beach house.

The house was very clean and well stocked. We had everything we needed for our five night stay. The owners were responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend this as a great place for a family getaway.
