“We had a lovely stay at the Maldron Hotel Portlaoise during our trip to Ireland. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located, making it a great base for visiting family and exploring the surrounding area. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was relaxed and inviting. “Clean and comfy room! Breakfast was amazing! Gym was great, but be aware its used by locals and they weren't super welcoming. The pool/spa area was crawling with loud kids (again locals use this as a leisure club too), so we avoided that.”

“A wonderful peaceful 3-day stop staying in the superior lodge room. The room itself comprised a spacious living area and a similarly large bedroom set a short walk from the castle itself. All of the staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful. Breakfast was superb with a great selection of high quality options. Highly recommended for anyone looking to stay in the area.”

“Fantastic hotel, amazing staff and location perfect. The small town of Leighlinbridge had many hidden gems! Food was great, both breakfast and the restaurant. Only small niggle was the tired bedroom and en suite, which whilst perfectly functional, could do with a refresh.”

“If you are not bringing young children with you to visit the adjacent amusement park Do Not Book a room there. The photos on line do not reflect reality - heaps of young children running around yelling and crying. This is not a place to go to together peace and quiet. How the staff hold it together is beyond me but they are so patient with the kids”
