Great location, with a great restaurant on site. Rooms are clean with great bathrooms, but perhaps a bit on the small side. Rooftop pool was an unexpected treat to cool off from the beach days.

Fantastic breakfast. Lots of variety and great service. Beautiful views from all rooms and the restaurant. Trail into town is much better than the road.

This hotel is a grand hotel built with other grand hotels throught Europe at the turn of the 20th century with the relatively new railroad providing comfortable "speedy" travel compared to ships and horse drawn carriages. The hotel keeps its historic charm with its architecture, antiques and paintings throughout but has been recently updated with all modern amenities. The staff is very professional and there is excellent room cleaning. The hotel has a commanding view of the Portofino Coast from Rapallo to Portofino and South towards Sestri Levante that one of the best in Italy. The Beach Club is right on the water with a heated infinity pool and spa. (Similiar to Santa Caterina in Amalfi and much nicer than the crowded ones in Capri.) It is a short pretty walk by the marina to Rapallo that is a vibrant Italian town. Nearby Portofino used to be a beautiful fishing village but gets overwhelmed with tourists and cruise ships. Rapallo has kept itself more authentic with more Italians than foreigners. We stayed here 3 times this year and plan to return.
