An ideal hotel to explore around the Barnsley area. We used the local train at Dodworth.The town centre is well worth a visit - very clean, modernised, an excellent indoor market and a wide variety of shops. The hotel itself was first class in all respects.

Room was great, as were the staff. Hotel is well kept the only let down was the breakfast. Breakfast wasn't overly busy, but food was cold, greasy and bland. clearly budget catering meat. Work needs to be done to improve this as other chains can get it right! Rest of the stay was great.

Only down side was woke up by noisy people at 2am then 5am, but no fault of the hotels , Martha in the restaurant was excellent as I couldn’t read the menu and she helped me and sorted it for me even though I was worse for wear for drink !!

Wonderful staff.

This was the first time that we had stayed at the Holiday Inn in Barnsley. Although we used to live in the town so we had visited the hotel many times for functions and meals . The hotel was clean but in need of a refurbish. However the staff more than made up for any downsides, they delivered exemplary service.
