“It Is a good hotel, to stay, coser to the Center, and very clean”

“Checked in late , 2100 hours. Once in the room, one bed looked as though it had been slept in. It was unmade with all pillows stacked on it. Trash can was full. Towels hung over shower door. Called the answering service since the office was closed. The manager’s wife talked to me. The manager came by to “verify” that the room has not been serviced. The two of them offered an upgrade to a room with 2 kings and a view of the lake. This room was clean. I also got a later check out time by 2 hours....

“Okay - speaking as the wife of a train buff, staying here as a birthday surprise was a no brainer. The question was - would I regret it? Is a vacay stay in a caboose comfortable or just kitschy? It was a blast. The grounds are gorgeous. The view? Clear Lake! What’s not to like? A fun pool on campus (with abundant floats - I was big on the giant pink flamingo) and access to stand up paddle boards and kayaks for the lake.
