“Here’s a friendlier version with minimal changes while still clearly describing the issue: When we arrived at Mary’s place, the house number was obscured by a shirtless, visibly unwell person pushing a trash cart in front, which wasn’t a great first impression. We pulled around, and I entered the last four digits of my telephone number into the keypad, which appeared to have been damaged or dug into with some sort of sharp metal object, only to discover that either the number had never been put……

“This place is a hidden gem in the redwoods! The bed is so comfortable, as are the soft pillows and thick towels. Everything was perfect, including the sweetest visiting cat, who sat outside with us on occasion! A 10 minute drive from town takes you to this private paradise in the forest. We would definitely visit again.”

“Friendly desk staff, and immaculately clean room. We stayed in the lodge/motel. It was so cozy and looked out on a beautiful redwood grove. The pub had great food and a kind staff as well. This was the first stop on our honeymoon and it was awesome!”

“The location was great in terms of being so close to the Ave of the Giants, however the lodge was right on the highway so there was some noise, but not much. Not all cottages are created not created equal. We were given a cabin that was not at all what was indicated in the photos. There were two bedrooms w/no livingroom or kitchen. We were able to upgrade for a little more money and found the "new", roomier accomodations very comfortable. Everything was clean and the kitchen was well stocked……

“Erin at the front desk was very helpful! The hotel needs a dramatic update. The rooms are dated. Outside the rooms are old chairs that are rusted and need to be replaced. Not business friendly. Not much to do in Shelter Cove either. I saw the beach and that's about it. Nice cool weather. The road in and out was long and dangerous to drive. Don't get too close to the edge of the property or it's a long way down.”
